Good question.  Scottish “Premier” League is level with MLS, except for two teams, both from Glasgow.

If you don’t know, you better axe somebody!

It's wonderful that those 2 teams are so highly regarded. However, if the rest of the league = MLS, then the competition is no better than MLS except perhaps when those teams play each other. Personally, I'm not excited about Wil Trapp potentially going to Celtic.

Celtic is almost always involved in European competitions.  Even in league competition, Trapp would get greater exposure to EPL teams, for his next jump.  Playing for Hearts or Motherwell or Randers is not the same as playing for Celtic or Rangers.  As attractive as the Trapp/Porter reunion would be, Wil must strongly consider an opportunity to join Celtic.  He is ready.

Nagbe may have missed his window.

I reiterate:  Every Soccer conversation (I have) is implicitly about United States lifting the World Cup.  Period.

Of the Scottish teams Celtic would be THE team to be on.  He’d see time in UEFA Champion’s League or Europa League every season there, based on their form.  But it my take a season to break into the starting 11.  You know, I thought that’s what. you meant f-lobo.  And I whole heartedly agree.  Still pretty high level.  Thanks!

The money has to be right for Wil Trapp to make that jump.  Not just any deal; it must be a really good one.  He would surely flourish under Caleb Porter. No doubt about that.  But Wil Trapp will not become all he can be by playing out his career in Columbus.

Wil is not a free agent. He has a contract with the Crew which was recently signed. His going to Celtic is a Columbus Crew/Celtic decision.  (Transfer fee $$$)

@fknbuflobo & @ZipsVoice you both hit the keys that for this to be good for Wil, he has to get into the starting 11, and be involved in competitions beyond the Scottish Premiership.

Good point.  I keep forgetting that Wil is still in contract.  Surely both Crew and Celtic will seek Trapp’s consent on this deal, even if neither is legally obligated to do so.

I didn’t mean to imply that they wouldn't consult Wil. My point was that he can’t just go to Celtic of his own accord.

Enjoying life. By the way, it was great to see Jake in Santa Barbara...especially hanging with our current players (not on game roster) in the stands. Once a Zip; Always a Zip!!!

Watching Chelsea v Newcastle. I still get chills whenever I hear The University of Akron mentioned (talking about DeAndre, ~69th minute) on an English Premier League broadcast. All Star in his 2 seasons at Seattle; also had a stint at The University of Akron...  Go Zips!!!
