Its official per Verbal Commits that Gueye will be transferring.

we officially have no Centers as Sayles is listed as a PF.

So now what? Two open scholarships?

We have already filled both Kostelac and Gueye's scholarships. We have 3 newcomers and only Ivey is a senior.

We're currently at 13 scholarships for next season according to @Illini Zip spreadsheet, which actually already puts us 1 over.

I guess quick guards and aggressive power forwards replace are better than unskilled center.  So who is going to move on?  Sayles or EMan?

13 is the scholarship limit, so noone needs to move on.  Although if we get another commit we would be over again.

We can solve the problem by listing Christian-Jackson as a center.

I would think so, signing day was November 14th, 2018.

I will be curious to see where this young man lands.  Beating up a teammate during a practice will not endure you to many coaches.   It is weird how the NCAA will remove an athletes eligability for a recruiting violation but he is still eligble after knocking a teammate unconcious.

I doubt any D1 coach would take him. He'll probably find his way onto a JUCO or NAIA roster I'm guessing. Has he even been convicted yet? You're opening pandora's box if you're wanting the NCAA to ban players without a criminal conviction.

That is sorta true.

Keep in mind that UA banned Tree, AA and Diggs without a conviction.

History tells s someone will drop out by next year.  I suspect we may well have lost K-lac in any event.  Who knows, maybe they just got an early jump on the exits with K-lac and Gueye.

I have no problem with teams policing themselves. That's how it should be. The NCAA coming in to conduct an investigation and banning players/coaches should be reserved for things like the Sandusky scandal where a program failed in policing itself.

NCAA already suspends players for failed drug tests without conviction (both PEDs and recreational).

Are you wanting the NCAA actively involved any time an incident arises involving 1 of its 460,000 student athletes?

How the heck did you infer that from his post?

I was asking a simple question. I wasn't sure where he was trying to go with his post.

I don't want to speak for LZip but I was fairly certain that was just in response to the Pandora's box comment
