We now have to start worrying about having enough total wins.

Assuming we can win the MAC (no small feat), we need to worry about every match here on out because NCAA does not permit into the Tournament any team below .500 winning percentage.

And this was absolute rubbish.  Butler does not look as good as half the teams in the MAC.

Where did you get this rule from? The NCAA website says conference champions get an auto birth

Did anyone NOT expect that last corner for Butler to go in? Love the build up possession game but no one seems to be a finisher. The kid from Iceland had a great chance at the end but it was a halfhearted attempt and then he didn’t follow up the rebound back his way. Hate to be negative but spent 2 1/2 hrs in Mc D using WiFi to watch another loss.

against Stanford, the 3 starting forwards were Egbo, Pacheco and Jackson.

None of those 3....were able to play in last night's game.

Need to get the starting forwards back and healthy

An at large bid is out of the question but winning the MaC tournament can still get us in.

Disappointing result last night but the overall play was closer to what we expect from this team. Defensively, Ritaccio and Milanese were excellent throughout. Without Egbo, Jackson and Pachecco, the attackers were always going to be limited for this game. Having said that, we had opportunities to with with (Tojaga?) head ball from corner kick and Skye Harter opportunity around the goalkeeper.

Does anyone know what is wrong with Jackson? Egbo I believe got concussion last game, at least that’s what was implied when he went off injured.

To finish on a positive, it was fantastic to see Skye back in the team.

Correct. The above-500 criterion applies only to at-large selections.

So, it is confirmed?  I am happy to be wrong on this one.  It is surreal to discuss the possibility of a losing record.  Unbelievable!

Question:  Say we learn to defend a critical cornerkick overnight.  Can we still host the MAC tourney if we run the league table?

Zips presumably practice at least a little bit on defending Corner Kicks.  All evidence to the contrary!

Winner of the MAC Tournament gets the automatic bid.  Chances of winning that tournament increase significantly when hosting said tournament.

No MAC matches have been played yet.

In summary, the MAC Tournament auto-bid is out there for the taking.

Zips have not missed the Tourney since 2006.

Sandon Mibut:

"There have been four-year players at Akron who lost fewer games in their college careers than the Zips have this year."

"The former just makes the latter all the more baffling. "

Don't have to run the table to host, just have the best MAC record after the 5 matches.  4-1 would probably host as well.  It's who wins the regular season title that hosts...
