Northern Illinois Home game - Saturday November 2nd

Recommended Posts

All MAC games are super important so I will get this topic started early.

Every game will be a challenge for this group of Zips.

Northern Illinois has scored 7 goals in their last 2 MAC games so they can put some balls into the goal.

The Zips goal keeper will have to be in top form and the Zips will need to score more than one goal for a "W"

The Northern Illinois Huskies are 7-7-1 and they are 2-1 in the MAC

you will see that they started their year  with an 0-4-1 record.....

that means that they are 7-3 in their last 10 games

started their year with a 2-1 loss at DePaul

2nd game was 1-0 loss at Loyola Chicago

1-1 home tie with Wisconsin-Green Bay

2-1 loss at Dayton

3-1 loss at Marquette

2-1 home win over Bradley

3-1 win on the road vs. Purdue Fort Wayne

1-0 win at home in OT over Milwaukee

2-1 win in OT at Western Illinois

2-1 loss at Illinois Chicago (UIC is good ...with their best player being Jesus "Chino" Perez

5-0 home loss to St. Mary's CA (St. Marys is 12-1 and ranked in the top 10 in the nation)

5-1 home win over Eastern Illinois

2-1 home loss to SIU-Edwardsville

4-2 win on the road at West Virginia

Gawd!  What an amazing finish...3 goals in last 10 minutes????????????  Unbelievable!  Makes me feel silly!

could be a season changing 10 minutes....

this should really give the team a great deal of belief in each other....on what they can accomplish under severe adversity.

some excellent quotes from David Egbo in article

“It was unbelievable,” Zips coach Jared Embick said. “There were a lot of guts shown. It was trending toward one of those ‘same old story’ where we missed some chances and got scored on in the few chances we give up.

“We’ve been talking about this for weeks in dealing with adversity. We knew we could continue to overcome these situations if we play our style. Even if it’s not always what you want as a coach to go down, this is what we needed. We needed to come through. It was an awesome, awesome feeling at the end.”
