So they can squeeze a few more .500 P5 teams in? Unlike college football where half the teams are eliminated from competing for a national title before the season even begins, every team in college basketball actually has a path to a national title. Besides it was only 1 1/2 years ago that a 16 seed knocked off a 1.

UMBC was definitely the exception to the rule. They were probably good enough to go several rounds in the D2 tourney.

There were no .500 P5 teams in the tournament you reference.  The closest were Alabama at 19-15 and Oklahoma at 18-13.

Here's some guys opinion of 9 teams that may have done better in the Big Dance than the Retrievers.

North Carolina Central comes into the JAR on the 18th.  Looking at their roster, I see that SVSM grad Jabri Blount (Mel Blount's son) is on the roster.  Looks like the team had 7 seniors last year.  Blount, a 6-7 senior forward,  is the top returning player averaging 10.1 points, , 4.4  rebounds and 1.6 assists as a junior.  In 2019, the Eagles went  to a third-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance by winning the MEAC Tournament for a third-straight year.

Looking forward to attending the game. Where do we rank as far as MAC teams are concerned?

Very off night for the Zips. Ice cold shooting, the Zips-NCC program lists the top scorers for the Malone Pioneers, the pregame videos are too jumbled to understand, the score board had us playing Miami of Ohio for much of the 1st half and Sayles still can't box out.  2nd half has to better.
