Harvad is doing well this year. South Dakkota State is really coming on.

Ugh, the typos make it hard to take them seriously.

This is the outfit that gave LCJ of "Akron University" their National Player of the Week honor.  Thanks, but ummm...?

I'm looking at the latest Lunardi bracketology. He currently has us set-up for a rematch against WVU. If this game was to happen, I'd hope Cleveland would host.

Unfortunately the cities and seed lines are already set. Cleveland hosts a 3-14, 6-11 and a 2-15, 7-10 grouping. If the Zips stay a 13 seed their only options are Tampa, Albany, Spokane or Sacramento. NET rankings hate BGSU at 152. There are five other MAC teams ahead of them including Akron at 72. Next best MAC team is Ball St at 117.

Good to know. I was under the impression the 1st/2nd round locations were subject to change as the committee tries to keep top 4 seeds close to home when possible.

Edit: losses to #243 Norfolk State and #240 Quinnipiac will have that effect. Sure, they were without Turner for those games, but that's not built into the NET's calculation. If you take those two losses away, they're probably around 100.

You're correct on that, but the sites are already set so they try to work that around those top four seeds to keep them as close to home as they can. For all of the rest of them you gets what you get. Sometimes you're lucky on location (like when the Zips played in Detroit) sometimes you're not (like when they got Notre Dame in Chicago or Gonzaga in Portland). But those last two the Zips were playing a top four seed, in Detroit they were not.

Not sure how accurate is, but this is a cool tool for projecting NET rankings.  I projected the Zips to win out and through theoretical MAC Tournament opponents and it appears the projected ceiling is a middle 13 seed.  Sure would like a 12.

Liberty, North Texas, SFA, UNI, & Yale are all near us or above us. The more of those teams that lose their conference tournament, the better our odds for an improved seed.

True. But we'll also be passed by .500 P5 teams that get hot and win a game or two in their conference tournament.

There are only 36 at-large spots. Those teams won't be passing the MAC's auto-bid. They would be passing other at-large teams. The highest seed Akron can realistically get is a 12 seed, which is below the bubble line.

FWIW.  This is from today.  Butler in Spokane.  12th seed.

FWIW. And #13 v Oregon in Spokane.  Meanwhile, Dayton/Wright State in Cleveland.

I saw another one that still had Akron v Auburn in Tampa

Back in ESPN Bracketology. Now a 13 seed against Maryland in Greensboro, NC. Would love the location and matchup, I've seen a lot of Maryland and think the Zips would match up favorably against them. We really need to win the MAC to keep the league from getting embarrassed. Zips are the only team that wouldn't be a 15 seed.

It heavily depends on which 1 bid conference teams win their tournaments. For example, Liberty plays Lipscomb today for the title. If Libscomb wins, they would slide behind any MAC team while Liberty would be forced to play in the NIT. If Liberty wins, they will be a 12/13 seed and be likely ahead of any MAC team on the seed list. Akron could realistically climb as high as 12 and some other MAC schools as high as 13 depending on the number of upsets.
