  1. Past hour
  2. Congratulations to Remi Agunbiade and Jack Roman for making the team of the week. The leader,,,,,the Captain....Daragh ...was honorable mention. (come on, top drawer soccer !!!....no shots on goal !!!!.....the whole Akron back 4 defensemen need to be recognized) https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-articles/mens-team-of-the-week:-dec-2_aid55426 F: Remi Agunbiade, Akron(m) - The Canadian sophomore saved the best performance of his career for when it mattered most, scoring both goals to defeat Duke and move on to the Elite Eight. M: Jack Roman, Akron(m) - Roman was a headache for Duke as he assisted one and played all 90 minutes in the 2-0 victory.
  3. Marv Levy is one of Coe's famous alumni. A few years ago, Fred Jackson played in the NFL. That would be like someone from Hiram making the jump!
  4. Something clearly doesn’t add up here, but regardless, he’s committed to Akron at this point
  5. Today
  6. Akron improves to #40 in NET. I imagine a lot of that was driven because of Iona moving from #168 yesterday to #138 today after their 23 point win over Delaware. BGSU improved dramatically and now sits at #63 after their upset against Kansas State.
  7. I had to scroll to the top of the thread to make sure I had hadn't inadvertently fallen into the football forum. LOL.
  8. Thanks @TennZip for posting the Duke student newspaper article. Refreshing to read observations about the conditions and crowd and not just AI-generated information about stats.
  9. Too cold to remove gloves for photos. You wouldn't want to see it anyway. 🫣
  10. Kiffin looks out for Kiffin. Always looking for the bigger, better deal. Ole Miss was willing to match the 13 million a year salary, but what they couldn’t do is match the promised 25-30 million player payroll that LSU was offering. Kiffin felt, right or wrong that winning a couple of games in the playoffs was going to be the ceiling at Ole Miss. Because he wouldn’t have the depth to compete against Georgia, Alabama or Ohio State. Also, last year Ohio State won the Championship with a running back they poached from Ole Miss, Quinshon Judkins. That had to sting. All while Kiffin is trying to piece a team together with transfers. Bottomline, if you can’t win a Championship in Oxford, Miss (SEC), then college football is in a worse place than college basketball. And that’s saying something.
  11. Article from the Duke Student newspaper.... (I like the vivid description....of what the restless Akron fans were wearing 😁).....(ps...did anyone get a photo of Fknbuflobo in his pom-pom hat? 😁) https://www.dukechronicle.com/article/duke-mens-soccer-ncaa-tournament-akron-zips-ncaa-quarterfinal-john-kerr-acc-mac-ulfur-bjornsson-championship-20251201 “They had a lot of great weapons,” Duke head coach John Kerr said. “They had determination. They were strong in the backfield and on our heels throughout the match.” The restless Zips fans — bundled in puffy coats and pom-pom hats to fend off the below-freezing temperatures — leapt to their feet to celebrate the score. Thick snow gloves diluted their clapping, so they took to stomping on the metal bleachers to show support.
  12. Maybe so but I don't think 4 pts in 32 minutes vs Bowling Green is exactly the type of ROI K-State is looking for with their alleged 7 figure investment in Nate. If he was struggling vs Kansas or someone like that, sure, but Bowling Green?
  13. When you look at the Akron team, you have you have 3 guys who have played together for several years that have just prospered under Groce. Meanwhile, Nate gets paid big bucks but is thrown in with an entirely new team and new coach. I think there will be an adjustment period for the players to come together as a team or the coach paid big bucks for guys who just cannot play well together. Time will tell.
  14. What a win for Todd Simon and his BUGS squad. Got revenge on their former player, big man Marcus Johnson, and beat Nate Johnson in the same game. Nate got his bag, which is awesome for him, but Akron also gained a lot of freedom with his departure. I was never overly impressed with his game and often thought he was a detriment to the team with his style of play that commanded the basketball. Ball movement often died in his hands and there were moments where he was seemingly asleep at the wheel. I will forever appreciate his winning shot vs. Miami OH, but both parties - Nate and Akron - benefitted with him going to Kansas State. The MAC is looking mighty solid this year.
  15. Apprentice lost to Howard by 36 tonight. Coe College came within 2 points of hitting the magical 36 point plateau against Northern Iowa,
  16. He got the bag. He seemed miserable out there
  17. He played 32 minutes and accomplished nothing. Previous years, he could take out BG on his own with a little help from Tavari.
  18. Won't be a quad 1 for much longer.
  19. So Bowling Green had to wait until Nate Johnson moved to K-State to beat him? 😉
  20. Kansas State was 55 in NET that’s a Q1 win for BG and the conference
  21. Watched the whole second half. Only thing Nate did of note was get rejected by a BG big. He was a ghost
  22. Watched game. Didn’t really see where Nate tried to do much
  23. I just turned the game on and now it is 17. Great road win for BG.
  24. It’s basically a wrap. The MAC gets its 2nd P4 win of the season. Bowling green is about to skyrocket in the rankings
