Tracking Roster Movement going into 2026

I thought he was done, but maybe not. Either way it's time to let him go with no chance of return. We need players who want to be here. -
I’m pretty sure that was my takeaway when the news/numbers first came out. I believe they use some sort of rolling average and my thought at the time was we could get it up for next season, but we’d need close to a miracle. Understand we have money concerns, but I agree with Clark the time to fight it would be been when it was first announced. One less practice a week is a big deal, especially when we might be looking at dealing with it for 3 years (last year, this year, and next year). That’s a lot of lost development.
-
Wait... we're still going to be ineligible next year?
-
We'll never know but it remains a bad look that the Zips were the only one. It was also time to stand up when it came down rather than essentially concede and push it back a year.
-
Akron should find another 5-7 team to play a game in Hawaii or Alaska to get to 6 wins and push for bowl eligibility, or just call the 13th game the bowl game.

I thought he was done anyway so I'm not even upset 😂 -

This never would have been upheld had Akron been bowl eligible. I guarantee the suits in the NCAA's legal department were sweating when Akron was making that comeback vs. Kent. Akron was low hanging fruit for the NCAA to flex its fake, tough-guy muscles one more time before they are completely rendered useless.

Serious question for all the Joe haters, if joe leaves what are your expectations? for the first three to four years you can't possibly expect to win more than two or three games a season and how much time are you going to give the new coach before you start calling for his removal? The issue with Zips football is not coaching it is not being able to compete financially with other institutions. Football players at akron get 91$ a month, big 10 football freshman players 35k a year. how do u compete with that? i watched a segment on lane kiffin. supposedly LSU is giving him a 25 million dollar war chest just for football. Kansas just got a huge donation from a hedge fund guy named booth for football and they named the stadium after him so now they have a huge war chest for football. the elevators at akron don't work in the dorms, don't work in the parking garages and they get 91$ a month. there are bigger issues than coaching. but honestly, how long do u give a new coach with a new staff and most likely a huge turnover of players because it wont be "his team" for four years of his players?
-
Strong company the Zips find themselves in.
-
I thought we knew before the season started that they were bowl ineligible due to multi year APR.
-
They didn't qualify for a bowl because we were the only team in the country sanctioned due to a low multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) score.
-
We lost out on a bowl game because of a home loss to Kent in overtime. At the start of the season, can anyone in their right mind think that would happen. This football team is cursed. How do we remove this curse?
-
The Sweet Spot.
-
Joe? Is that you?
-
Now if only we could get accepted to the league.

I’ll do my best to keep up with all the conference movement. That said, I’m not going to be linking any names to specific sites since I’ll be pulling information from On3, 247, and whatever pops up on my social media feed. Absolutely. The 2025 tournament has a particularly high PK rate so far - looks like 20% of results (8/40) were decided by PKs. I counted only 5 last year (and only 4 in 2023) and one was the semi between Denver and Vermont. Let's hope that PKs have had their moment and will now hibernate for the rest of winter.
