  1. Lot 34 wasn't bad -- seemed like a mix of fans, but mostly Syracuse fans near us. I did get to meet Texan Mark.

Of course Lot 9 was never open when I was ready to show up (7AM). I understood it being closed since you need a pass to park there, so I was excited to roll into the lot that on the map says, "Opens early for tailgating" - not so much. I pulled up at 7 and there was a chain blocking off one entrance and a barricade on the other. After perusing the area, I eventually drove on the sidewalk and through the common area to get into the lot. Something I guess a few other people got in trouble for doing after my recommendation. Sorry. The lot across the street (43, I think) was open, but I told all of my friends to meet us in 34, so I just decided to be a rebel.

I was able to set up in a nice little spot with a couple of picnic tables and those were a nice feature. The walk is a lot longer than Lot 9, but still not bad, and to be honest it wouldn't kill me to walk a little further.

One of my friends who is still a student set me up on the RooTown wifi. I was on the city's free downtown wireless before he showed up and my video was all choppy. Once he hooked me up with RooTown, the video looked a LOT better, and the computer I was running it from isn't anything special, just a netbook, plus it was running iTunes at the same time. I'm thinking about trying out Napster next week. I've used their free trial in the past and it's pretty nice to have their entire collection at your fingertips.

I'll post a few pictures later.

  2. I'm planning on being in Lot 34 between 7 and 8 AM. Orange Chicken is the dish, with some orange and pineapple I've currently got soaking in some Everclear. Or course, I've also got a few oranges to play baseball with.

    Hey...I was doing orange chicken!chicken5.gif

However, my drink is Southern Comfort-based. :CK_brew:

Is it SoCo, Mountain Dew, & Orange Juice? That's one of my favorites.

  3. My clock officially started today. I was on campus this morning in the parking lot dialing in my satellite dish. I am cocked, locked and ready to rock. I have subscribed to ESPN College Game Plan. I am ready to put on the chef's apron and I am thirsty. Totally ready to go at this point. I am now simply watching the clock.

If anyone planning to tailgate in lot 34 wishes to bring a television setup, we can split my signal and send it your way. I have an extra 100 feet of co-ax available to offer.

    Let's go Zips!

What provider do you use? I've been looking into a similar setup, but wasn't sure if you can just buy service for 4 months out of the year.

  4. Any photos?

I live in California and do not get back to Ohio very often.

    Thanks.

Temecula, California. One word: Pachanga! :P

To clue in those scratching their heads, West Coast TV viewers are assaulted by the continuous running of a commercial promoting the new casino in Temecula -- Pachanga! Aaaaarggggghh!!!

Pechanga is the best place to be for Monday Night Football, unless you're at the game. They've got cheap ass beers and appetizers, and give you a raffle ticket for every beer you drink that can win you stuff based on the teams that are playing. The best part is the game is over by 9PM on the west coast and you have time to live it up in the casino. Awesome place! Love It!

  5. I got Lot 17...I guess I will have to walk across the street and party with Lot 9! Anyone else get 17?

You're welcome to stop in at our Lot #9 party any time...and stay as long as you'd like!

I'll have to swing by as well as I'm one of the ones who got chased away. I'll be in 34 this year, not looking forward to the trek, but then again, all my friends had to trek to Lot 9 last year to party with me.

  6. Has anyone else seen this? Your College Town Sucks: Can't, Ohio"From its paved roads to its numerous public restrooms, Can't is more than just a shining example of the modern, American city; each year, thousands of young, white people migrate to Can't to escape the wearying pressures of suburbia. Rest assured, fellow travelers--in our fair city, there is no fear of being forced to load the dishwasher or bitter tears over having to drive your little sister to piano lessons. Instead, you will find a safe haven full of people just like you who are far enough from their family to avoid being hassled, but still close enough to be sent money. However, the right to party--added to Can't's town charter in 1947--is just one of the many reasons so many tourists come to see, hear, and grope their way through the exciting world of a city located conveniently close to Cleveland!"(Note: You will probably need to change the word "can't" back to "k ent" in the url if it is automatically changed like "k ent" is in the regular text).
Too bad the headline on that article is: "Can't, Ohio: The next Akron?"AkronVsKent07256.jpgn39112794_34123434_4298.jpgn39112487_31391527_1976.jpg
  7. There was another name in that list that should be familiar to Zips fans as well, although in a much more neagtive way.Reno Bighorns - Haminn Quaintance (Traded To Rio Grande Valley)For anyone that may not recognize the name, he was a Zips nemesis at Can't State for a number of years. If this league equates Can't State starters with UA walk-ons. I'm OK with that. :)
You mean Hammin Cheez??? That guy was a piece of trash, and I'm sure he still is.
  8. Maybe I'm just a boob, but I have a feeling the Zips will roll in this one with absolutely nothing to lose.Zips 31Owls 20
With a prediction like that, you are most certainly a boob. A pretty big boob, in fact. Maybe even as big a boob as those pictured with the sunglasses.
  9. Also, I noticed the crowd wasn't making any noise @ all on 3rd downs. I was stomping on the aluminum bleachers, but I was the only person in my proximity trying to raise the roof for the D on 3rd down. I'll also chalk that up to the game's outcome never being in doubt. But I hope the Info is ROCKING for our D on 3rd next week versus Indy!
I was trying to get section 208 into it and everyone was just looking at me like, "Who's the obnoxious loud drunk guy?" Well, I may be obnoxious, you know I'm loud, and I'm sure I wasn't the most sober guy in the stadium, but at least I know how to make noise on a third friggin down!
