ZachTheZip
Saw this on NIU's board. There's a whole lot to talk about here. Who would have guessed that Akron now leads the MAC in athletics spending?http://chicagofootball.com/2015/03/23/behind-the-numbers-where-mac-athletic-departments-rank-in-spending-profit/a8ax3qd/
K92
We are ramping up spending anticipating that invite to the ACC.
Hilltopper
I would imagine that a big chunk of Akrons spending is money from the general fund used to pay off the debt from Infocision stadium.

You think the football program is holding your boy Dambrot back and you don't like it.

You think the football program is holding your boy Dambrot back and you don't like it.You mistake my disdain for the realities of the financing of MAC level collegiate sports for hatred of the Zips football program. I am a loyal fan who purchases 4 club seats and makes regular contributions to the program . I have attended in the neighborhood of 300 Zips football games. Btw, Dambrot is not "my boy" but I do respect him as a coach and more importantly as a person.
Dave in Green
Hilltopper is correct. The annual debt payment for the stadium bonds is $4.3 million. That doesn't just affect the basketball program.
