First of all, FAU's football program is only 6 years old. They are not "always one of the worst teams in the countryl" FAU got into the D1AA semi finals in the programs 3rd year. Ended the season 11-3. The next year they had a record of 9-3 and defeated a few D1A teams. Their first year of D1A football they went 2-9. The Second year of D1A, in 2006, they went 5-7, same as Akron. Four of their seven losses were against Clemson, Oklahoma State, University of South Carolina and Kansas State. They did this with a team of mostly sophmores. They lost about 3 starters to graduation this year so next year will be a good one.Why ould anyone want to go to FAU instead of Akron? Are you joking? Have you ever been to Boca Raton, FL. The campus is a mile from the beach. It is warm all year round. The lady students that attend FAU are gorgeous. The head football coach is Howard Schnellenberger. He is the one that revived the University of Miami program and lead them to their FIRST national championship. He revived the Louisville program to what it is today. He was an assistant coach on the undefeated Miami Dolphins team and he was an assistant under Bear Bryant at Alabama. FAU has several nationaly ranked academic programs and is growing in the area of bio research. It has 7 campuses and possibly 8 soon. The main campus is 850 acres. 26,000+ students. I've never been to Akron but if it is anything like Cleveland or Youngstown, well all I can say is, welcome to FAU Jarvis Givens. I hope you enjoy your time there.
