Brooks leaves Niagara basketball teamThe Associated Press (June 4, 2007) — LEWISTON, — Guard Rydell Brooks left the Niagara basketball program, citing personal reasons, on Monday.Brooks, a native of Akron, Ohio, averaged 4.7 points in starting 30 of 35 games as a freshman last season in helping the Purple Eagles win the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title and clinch their second NCAA tournament berth in three years. +++++++++Brooks is a good kid and a solid student. I hope he does well.

It is rumored on the Niagara board (http://www.voy.com/25499/) that Rydell Brooks is transferring to Akron. Any info? He is from Akron, homesick?We had a good season and have a solid recruiting class coming. He averaged about 5 points and game and, IMO, is a solid player.
