OK so a few weeks have gone by and Let me still say I am still a little Bitter. However, the way our team left the Q on that Saturday was very depressing. They were depressed the fans were depressed and everyone was in bitter silence. The team as we all know is the BEST in Zips Basketball History 26 Wins Being in a Division I school. Well Monday March 26th at 7:00 PM we as a fan base have the chance to cheer for our BOYS one more time. 1st 500 people in the doors will receive free pizza and pop there will be team pictures and an autograph session from 7:00-7:30 at the 7:30 the program begins a Highlight Video the Band plays a few of the AK-ROWDIES Famous Cheers of the Year and speeches made by Coach D, Druuuu and RO-ME-OOOOOO! So come out and show your support because we all know that Our Boys deserve a praise cheer that they didn't get at The Q for everyone thought we had another game coming our way! So Come Be LOUD, Be PROUD, Be ROWDY, show our boys that we are still behind them! Also, MAC East Champions T-Shirts will be on sale as well! I am coming back on for good reason on this one I think and let me know if I am wrong please. When we as a board so no posting on ZipsNation we were not saying don't we not trying to comand anyone to do anything. What we were trying to get across was come to the leaders with concerns and not bash the leaders for what we are trying to do to help. The last time I posted it got me and other ROWDIES in some trouble so just be a little more curtious on what is said when you direct it towards the Department and the Leaders of the Rowdies and if you have MAJOR issues come to us 1st get ALL the facts straight (unlike what I have done in the past) and then put some sort of little negative/spin to positve on what is said thats all

I would like to take this opportunity to retract my statements from Monday regarding the Athletic Departments decision to sell Rowdies tickets in the North End during the holiday break games. I have spoken to several members of the department and now have a better understanding of why the decision was made. The Athletics Department made the decision to try and sell the seats at the North End of the JAR in an effort to create the best possible home court advantage for the Men’s Basketball team against a national power. History has shown that students do not attend basketball games during the holiday break in large numbers. Rather than risk holding the seats for students and having one end open or both ends half full, a decision was made to hold the seats at the South End for Rowdies and to sell the North End to Z-Fund members and other Zips fans. The Athletic Department would like nothing more than to have both ends filled with Rowdies and other Akron students on Friday night, but it is up to us to make this happen. Only 65 Rowdies were in attendance last night as the Zips blitzed St. Francis. We need 164 on Friday night to pack each end and give the Men’s Basketball team the home court advantage they need and deserve. We can still make this happen! As of this posting a limited number of tickets have been sold in the North End. If we can arrive early (6:00 PM) on Friday night and pack the North and South ends, the athletic department will consider these areas sold out and will not sell any of these seats. It is up to us to make this happen! We can write all we want to about how we think we are being mistreated, but we have an opportunity to make this all right. The Athletic Department sees their relationship with the Rowdies and the Akron students as a partnership. They want us to show up in full force for each and every game. Let’s not let history repeat itself. Let’s show the Athletic Department and the University and surrounding communities that this is not the same old Akron. Let’s show them that a new era has indeed arrived, that will create a home court advantage that others in the MAC will strive to imitate. The STREAK is now 21! You can be the difference in making it 22! I will be there on Friday with several other Rowdies and I hope that everyone reading this will also make the same decision. I just got out of a meeting with Hunter. He knows that I wrote my post on Zips Nation Last night. And Yes, He was disappointed in me for he knows I am a hard worker here for the Athletic Department. He told me if I can GARANTEE to have 164+ AK-ROWDIES members for the Nevada game he will hold the lower seats for us. He told me he would rather have 164+ of Akron's ROWDIEST students then just some Smo off the streets. So if you can send me an e-mail saying you will be there and if I get 164+ from you I will be able to get ALL of OUR seats for the lower level back for the BIGGEST game in AKRON/RHODES ARENA HISTORY. COACH D just also spoke to me he said get them back! I am calling YOU out NOW e-mail me ASAP let me know you will be a loud ROWDY fan come this FRIDAY.When You COME BE LOUD BE PROUD FEAR THE ROO and GOOOOO ZIPS

Can't argue your feelings there sgm...I hope you don't take it out on me and as a student I will say I am NOT a happy zips fan right now. But of course I have to keep working to hopefully help you guys out I hope you all know that I am trying to give my imput daily but they laugh and call me a stupid student. Good Evening, I am not going to state my name due to my part in the Athletic Department, Aparently the Athletic Department has NO faith in the students in at THE University of Akron. It has been brought to my attention that over break the Athletic Department will be selling the Lower End Seats on the North End (Akron's Bench side) over break. This includes the NEVADA game. This also means that there will be a lot of sitters. The AK-ROWDIES will only get 82 seats (South End) throughout all of break unless we can prove to the department we are a loyal student group. In regaurds to the 82 seats in the South End we only get those because the Band will be gone over break. We need to have AS MANY BODIES as humanly possible at the games tomorrow as well as the Nevada game on Friday. By the way the Women have a game tomorrow at 5:30 they are now 5-5 the first time they could have a winning record in years. So to have a for sure seat at the Men's game you might want to be at the Women's game as well.I know that this is probably either a. no shock to you or b. pisses you off. But it is up to you to prove this faithless Athletic Department wrong! Hope to see you soon.Quickasazip

that in itself is very sad... AGREED...working in the department I have seen alot of changes some for the good some for the bad...but it is what my boss approved what went up on the board that evening...at the same time I could have brought the iris down to take away the hot light...but did the message get its point across I hope so!
