  1. Thanks for your thoughts zip junkie.....but, practically all the zips in the NFL have had to take a similar route of proving themselves-dont you think? I mean, until a few years ago you would have had to have some great numbers to get recognized coming from the mac, especially akron; and im talking to get a look as a free agent -let alone being drafted. But now, more and more akron and mac athletes are getting chances through free agency and the draft. Anyone who is a fan of akron or even the mac knows that you can have practically the same two athletes and statistics but the one who comes from the more prestigous conference is going to get the first chance in the nfl, but we are coming around. I like to think that the guys coming from akron and the mac have more determination and drive to prove themselves than the guys from the more recognizable conferences, but thats just me.....
  2. So, did anyone see the highlights? Former zip LB standout Ryan Myers had a touchdown against the NY Giants last night. It was supposed to be a simple toss sweep but back up QB "pretty boy" Palmer threw it too hard and high to the Brandon Jacobs and Myers shed his block and recovered the fumble in the endzone for a TD. I recently spoke with him and his chances of making the teams travel squad are good, if nothing less he will most likely make the practice squad. Also, i have spotted Matt Cherry on the Bengals sidelines a few times but hasn't gotten any PT yet-Looks like the guy from Western Mich. #83 -Walters-is getting all the snaps. anyway just another zip in the NFL to keep an eye on.
  3. I personally think that Bobby hendry was a better all around back. I think he had great toughness and ran with authority. Brandon Payne -before his knee injury- was something special too, he had great quickness and hands but a big ego to go with it. Jimmy Gray was outstanding for his size all 5'5 155 lbs. of him, blazing speed though but he had to share time also.
