Posted our two-cents worth on the recent bracket buster at MAC Report Online in: MAC Struggles in Bracket Buster.Good games from some unexpected squads but the close losses killed the MAC. If NIU, Toledo, WMU, Ball State hold onto late leads the MAC goes 8-4.

Dave just posted our weekly hoops column at MAC Report Online. With the season beginning to wind down it's going to be time to start thinking about players and awards. He'd like to do a fan survey and get input from as many folks as possible on their choices for the following awards: Player of the Year 6th Man of the Year Defensive Player of the Year Freshman of the Year So, if you have any thoughts on the players you think are deserving of these awards up to this point in the season, please shoot us an email with the subject "MAC Awards" and we will compile the votes and see who the fans would choose. Our email address is sports@macreportonline.com. Thanks.

Dave finally got around to doing a recruiting analysis for MAC Report Online. His ranking placed Akron on top. It's more of a thumbnail/highlight overview of the recruiting classes. He also compiled a consensus recruiting ranking taking rankings from five sources, MAC Report Online, Vandelay Sports, Rivals, Scout and College Football News. The consensus shows how much diverse opinion there is out there about the recruiting classes this year. Dave also thinks it shows a bit how off the mark CFN, Rivals and Scout (i.e. those who only give cursory attention to the MAC) are on the subject. Anyway, the outcome of his consensus was a bit surprising. Check it out through our link on our homepage.

Dave sat down to write a straight news piece for MAC Report Online on the Bracket Buster pairings but it turned into a mini-rant after he recalled recent conversations with coaches Dambrot and Ramsey. At this point it seems the Bracket Buster is doing the MAC and other mid-majors no favors and does not enhance tournament potential for the mid-majors. Anyway, here is the link with quotes from Dambrot and Ramey as well: Bracket Busted?
