  1. you might as well only buy tickets for the quarter finals...don't waste your money on tickets you're not gonna use
Thats what I meant...the games at the Q. Where do I buy tickets.
That's not what he meant, silly. He meant that you will lose to OHIO in the quaterfinals. Note his name is "Screw the Roo". If I were you I would probably heed his advice.
  2. The Q. is no one's home....how many games have the Zips played there this year?? What about the Bobcats?? THATS WHAT I THOUGHT!A big part of home court advantage is familiarity with the shooting background, rims, etc. The Zips have the same familiarity with that as we do (actually we have a bit more due to your early exit last year from the tourny). As far as the crowd, we travel far better than you do and have many Cleveland area alums. Your student section is mute and your old fans do a heck of a lot less cheering than ours. So, THE Q is OUR HOUSE and will be the perfect site to end your season. Like I said, BEAT YOU SOON!!!! :P:P:P :macc: :macc:

  3. This was the first game I have attended at the JAR for a while, and I must say that I am rather unimpressed with the "Rowdies". First off, there are not that many Rowdies to begin with--it is a rather puny student section. They really don't seem to get all that loud (a small arena helps, though) and their chants seem pretty disorganized. I think it is pretty silly to split up your student section into two parts...why not just make them one unit??The Rowdies have a ways to go, but the atmosphere was definitely better than last time I went to the JAR. YOU JUST CAN'T BEAT THE OZONE!!

  4. I think it's hilarious that they were encouraged by this game. Well, using their logic, our team should win the MAC because we "only" lost to Ohio and Miami on the road by three points. It's quite encouraging when teams consider coming within twenty points of the zips in the JAR a moral victory. They beat us 8 out of 10 times on a neutral court??? Pleeeeeeease :iws:
Dude, the game was within 5 points with only about 2 min. left..........the only reason you won by 15 was with foul shots, a few lay-ups, etc. A very close game between probably the MAC's 2 best teams--I think we all know who is truly better. :gun: If you analyze the rest of the season, it is looking like we will meet in the 2nd round of the MAC tourney at the Q (3 vs. 6 game). On a neutral court, I say OHIO wins 9 of 10 times.....the only reason you squaked it out today was with the home court advantage. BEAT YOU SOON!GO OHIO! :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc:
  5. How big are the rowdies?
Well, there were about 3 of them in Athens, and I think that's about what they get in the JAR as well!!!YOU JUST CAN'T BEAT THE OZONE!By the way, we are and will remain....... :macc: I'm not sure why you guys have that MAC Champs emotion on your board--it is more usefull for fans of opposing teams that it ever will be for you all!
  6. OU 6033 (1 large game of 10K where they gave away tickets for sibling weekend)
Just because we have better attendance than you doesn't mean that you have to make stuff up. The 10,000 game (CMU) was NOT sibling weekend and we did NOT give away tickets. THIS weekend is sib's weekend, but there is no home game. The only people who get free tickets are the students--we don't even have "community day" or "faculty/staff appreciation day" like you guys are talking about.Ohio consistently gets 7,000+ for weekend games and usually 5,000 for weekdays. This is always "butts in seats" attendance, not "paid".
  7. How is it an upset when we were favored by 3.5 going into the game?? ;) Our athletic programs on the whole are superior to yours. And yes, next year you will lose to us in football--I guarantee that. We will be much improved and vying for the East title. Our recruiting class is rated 2nd in the MAC by Rivals.com as well.DON'T FORGET THAT WE ARE: :macc: :macc: :macc: YES WE ARE THE WINNING TEAM, YES YOU ARE THE LOSING TEAM!

  8. - I hope our ONN crew of Phelps & Co. don't come off as bad as these OU guys. They probably do, but I hope not. After the first 15 minutes, my wife insisted we get French & Dunn on and use the DVR to sync them up with the video on ONN. The announcers added nothing of value for me watching the game. Someone in the OZone needs to slip the play by play guy a note that he doesn't need to yell into his mic all the time. The sound guys can help with that.
FYI, this was not a crew paid for by Ohio Athletics. Though we supposedly wanted to use our own TV crew, ONN wanted to use their own people to do the game. The normal TV announcer for Ohio games is Keith Morehouse, who in my opinion is quite good.
  9. You know what, I caught the second half on ONN, and Ohio just plain sucks.  I give them no credit at all.  We just had an off night tonight and are still the best team in the MAC, no doubt about it.  We're going to absolutely eat them alive in the JAR.  They could only beat us by 3 on their homecourt when we're having an off night.  We'll let their fans enjoy this, because we'll be the ones celebrating in Cleveland.  Go Zips!
Akron gave everything they had tonight...it simply was not enough. You guys are good, but best team??-not by a loooong shot. OHIO is, has been, and always will be the better team, but you just can't accept it. Akron winning the MAC tourny--forget it. You have no inside game and your shooting is suspect. And if you think Akron played bad tonight, just look at our stats. We had around 50% free throw shooting and 18 turnovers and still won. When we are clicking on all cylinders, we are simply UNBEATABLE!I was looking forward to seeing 100 of your "AK-ROWDIES" tonight, but there was no one in that arena rooting for you guys. The whole bit about busloads of Zips fans coming down was a total lie. :nono: I'm soooooooo looking forward to playing you guys in the JAR so that we can ONCE AGAIN show you where you belong. I'll be ready--will you??WE ARE STILL :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: OU!!OH YEAH!! :gun::gun::gun::gun::gun:
  10. Ohio has a team well suited to tournament play.....depth, athleticism, etc. We would have won that thing 9 times out of 10 and YOU know it.Looking forward to the game tonight..........You Akron folks are in for one BIG shocker and it doen't matter how many crackhead rowdies or whatever you call them show up. WE OWN YOU!!!OHIO FOREVER............AKRON NEVER! :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :gun:

  11. Bubba just didn't like Akron...GET OVER IT!If you think he sucks so much, why do you care???Mabye he just wanted a better academic experience in a clean and comfortable city that does not smell of tires. Let it go..there were players before Bubba and will be players after Bubba. And, to think that Ohio committed violations is totally out of line. I am shocked  that you would even think of that!! Coach O'Shea does not partake in that sort of illegal activity.Let's look at Coach Dambrot's resume, though:1.assistant coach at Akron in the mid-1980s (NCAA probation) 2.head coach at Ashland (NCAA probation) 3.assistant coach at EMU (NCAA probation) 4.head coach at CMU (infamous racially slurred pep talk, also punches his own player on sidelines)Now that is a coach with a history of not so scrupulous activity!!

  12. To think that Ohio committed violations to get Walther is out of line. I know for a fact that we followed proper protocol and that it was all done in a legal fashion. Coach O'Shea didn't even speak with Walther until he was enrolled here. It's ashame that Coach Dambrot won't let him out of his scholarship, but that't life....BUBBA WOULD RATHER PAY TO GO TO OHIO THAN ATTEND AKRON FOR FREE! :rock:Looking forward to beating you guys on Tuesday and proving once and for all who's boss! :gun:
