It looked like Toledo brought more fans on Thursday to be honest. The game will have a drop in attendance Saturday. It's unfortunate for the MAC.The team did quit tonight. Yeah, I was looking for Peterson too, it was too easy to find him on the bench late in the game...as usual.
I hope this isn't true. If he does leave what will happen to the AK-Rowdies? I know we'll still have it but I'm worried that if someone new takes over it won't be as well done as it was this first year.
Yeah, the line cutting was getting very annoying. I was lucky enough to be one of the last ten people to be able to get into the AK-Rowdy section. A lot of people that I have seen at games all year had to sit up top. Nobody said much to anyone until about the 15th and16th person tried to get to the front of the line. The best part was there were two girls infront of me and my friends, they were complaining about the cutting the whole time...they ended up leaving...and walking up and taking spots near the front of the line.We were told last week we were going to be allowed to run on the floor. Then they put a rope up and announce nobody is allowed on the floor. I saw two higher ups. in the administration ask us why we didn't rush the floor. Either don't let us rush or don't put any barriers up keeping us from going onto the floor.
Today, I recieved an e-mail from Matt Newhouse about the K-ent game and MAC tournament tickets. At the bottom of the e-mail was the sign policy for the lower AK-Rowdy sections behind the baskets...All signs allowed in the student section must adhere to the following guidelines:Contain no profanity or lewd suggestions; Contain no obscene drawings or photography; Be in generally good taste with regards to the opponent; and Must contain a PRO-AKRON message in accordance to the Sportsmanship Policy of the Mid-American Conference. The policeman on the south side took away two signs that said "Fear The Roo". As far as I know, that doesn't break any of the rules. Hopefully the Athletic Department won't drop the ball again and screw the students over. I don't blame the policeman that took away the signs, they believed they had to do it.
You've clinched a SHARE of the MAC East. If we win at Buffalo and on Saturday we SHARE the MAC East and you receive the #1 seed. The MAC Champion is the team that wins the tournament, since you obviously don't know that.
Great point about a lot of the fans in the lower sections. It seemed when a big play was made by the Zips the students would start going crazy but most in the lowers that I saw gave some nice golf claps.I know we don't like K-ent but look at the difference of how their fans reacted when they started on that game changing run after Akron went up 9. The fans in the lowers, uppers, and obviously the students were at the least standing and clapping. Most were yelling that place got really loud. I knew we were in trouble then because Akron had kept that place quiet for the first 25 minutes of the game.Hopefully it's different for the K-ent game on Saturday.
Huge success? Attendance was 8,942. If another 1,000 people show up, they're still 58 people from getting a sell-out at the stadium where I went to high school! After all the talk of a possible sell-out, getting under 10,000 is HUGE flop.
The one cop almost kicked out a guy on the south for a sign on a piece of scratch paper saying "Fear The Roo". Funniest thing is when the cop asked him to walk with him outside the doors to talk with him, on the way out the kid told him that he was "infringing on his Constitutional rights." Never heard someone actually use that in person, lol.Doors are opening for the K-ent game at 10:30 next Saturday. Other than this game we can never expect to get into the arena prior to an hour before tip-off.
