  1.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: Go figure, the Buchtelite committing such a terrible journalism sin! From what it sounds like, the article wasn't written that well to begin with and should've been changed or edited, as has been suggested. For a paper that only runs twice a week, you'd think that'd be easy! As far as the university is concerned, the paper is independent. Therefore, as my esteemed professor has stated, it has no place in this matter. If the writer in question wants to take ANY action, it has to be through court. Period. At least you guys still have the Beacon...
  2. First of all, Akron would have gotten their butts kicked as bad as, if not worse, than K ent did tonight. Pitt's size and skill made them a formidable opponent. Secondly, congrats on your guys' win against Temple. However, I find it disgusting you can't even stick with your conference no matter which team it is. I rooted for Akron in the NIT before they blew it against Creighton. You knew Pitt would have been a tough game, and let's face it, K ent sucked tonight. But let's be real here - Akron would not have been any better off with the crappy seed the committee gave the MAC.Not to mention what espn.com said about March Madness:http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...e=murphy/060316So, to you guys that refuse to support us, we'll just have to kill you again next year.Oh, and in case you forgot, K ent = :macc:

  3. Well back to the purpose of the thread...I checked ESPN.com and looked at Creighton's schedule and roster and I have to be honest this is definately a winnable game. They have lost some games to some pretty bad teams. The main obstacle is the home court. They have only lost one game at home this year and that was against So. Illinois. So it looks as though they protect the home court rather well. The starters are young and could be exploited. Considering the prestigue the MVC has now this would be a huge win for the Zips and I hope they can pull it off.GO ZIPS and :screwks:
Yeah, Creighton is definately a winnable game for you guys...If memory serves right, some of their players from a few years ago are still there. They sucked then and they're winnable now...The more damage you do, the better for the MAC! Oh, and in case you forgot...K ent = :macc:
  4. Hey, just checked the score today...NICE WIN ZIPS!!! This win is good PR for you guys and good for the MAC! Knew it was winnable...good thing Chaney retired the day before to keep that loss off his record! :thumb: Next up - Creighton....You better kick their arse!K ENT = :macc:

  5. Wow, that's tough...you guys SHOULD have gotten a home game...Temple is a decent team too...you can do it :thumb: and if you win, you get Creighton...not a stellar team, we've beaten them years past in bracketbusters...Either way, I'm rooting for you guys! Enough of this one-bid crap, let's make some noise!

  6. This was KD's chance...the Zip basketball team's chance...to make a statement....KD rode his horses too long....If KD wonders why there's no sell outs at the JAR early next season, he needs to look in the mirror. He had his chance to break through in 2006....
And to think, people were screaming for him to win "Coach of the Year."Perhaps they should reconsider after that game...
  7. Don't underestimate the hot team. Toledo did what it needed to do to win, and they've already beaten Can't this year. They can do it. And Stan Joplin is still fighting for his job.
True, but we also beat them at home. The loss came at Toledo after the very tough Akron match. We also won 6 straight after that before losing at Akron. On a neutral court, they don't have a chance. If the Men show up to play...it'll be a cakewalk.
  8. Only the ones that wanted the easy route...we've beaten some tough teams, but A LOT of students wanted a rematch...in fact, I think all...We wanted nothing more than to do what Toledo did tonight...burst that wonderful bubble. Either way, I'm positive Akron will do some damage if selected to the NIT...'Til next year...

  9. I agree...all rivalries aside, Akron was the number two team this year. Out of all the games I attended, Akron posed the biggest threat and those were the most fun. I wanted that intense rival atmosphere going into tomorrow night...it was a big letdown when the Zips gave up. Now I have to put up with Toledo fans... :wall: Good luck next year! :thumb:

  10. I whole-heartedly agree...wish it could have been a tie-breaker rematch, winner-take-all...plus, winning the championship would be sooo much sweeter against you guys. Now we have to play the rockets...woohoo. Either way, shake things up in the NIT!
