  2. The University of Akron volleyball team stays home this weekend to play host to Northern Illinois and Western Michigan. The Zips look to get back on track starting Friday against NIU for a 7 p.m. matchup while Akron will turn around to take on WMU Saturday at 5 p.m. The home stand against NIU will also serve as Akron's "Dig for the Cure" match, as the Zips will wear pink uniforms in support of breast cancer research and there will be a raffle as well as t-shirt sales with all proceeds benefitting Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Akron.
