Cruz was a great tight end. He was athletic and could have boosted the zip offense in 09. My bet is that he lead hofstra to a CAA title and appearence to the FCS playoffs.

Rumor has it that Cruz left because of the spread offense. This is a big problem because akron has not utilized the tight end position since i can remember. the last 3 tight ends akron had were not utilize the way they would have been in other offenses. Cruz was also a junior, tranferring down was his only option. sitting a year out would have hurt him indefinately. He went to a school thay can extrememly benefit their offense. An offense that likes to sling the ball. 80 catches in 2 years. Cruz will be in the 2011 draft.
