  1. i dont care because i am an akron zip fan. the program has gone nowhere and i would bet it holds our mens team back financially speaking. just like football to soccer or our track sports. besides, if you all cared, then you would be sure to show up so my sisters freshman squad doesnt beat the womens games in attendance. or maybe you are the dozen or so non parents to be there.
  2. i am not sure about j.d. i guarentee that he wasnt pure volunteer though at the nfl level. i would just think that they would try to do something for someone that was important to the success of the program and is valuable to the character of the athletics department as a whole (or at least the perception of it). what was j.d. to the broncos? i would just think that they would take care of someone of their own. maybe another message the program can send to future zips...
  3. you would think that the athletic department would find a way to get him some kind of compensation. he was the face of zips when we started our winning ways. he is a perfect example of doing things the right way (during the playing years and after). the department should embrace guys like him.
  4. i understand wanting to play a weak opponent to get your 'feet wet', but we can get rid of the d2 and d3 teams and play a poor d1 team at least.
  5. i think that they need to schedule the middle of the road a-10 teams and more horizon league games at home. even that may be difficult, but i would have to think that beating teams from at least better conferences, eventhough they are not better than average 'teams' themselves, would be an improvement. i think that we have to go for steady improvemtns to the schedule. gradually get the hirams off the schedule. in the end, in zips nation, the scheduling is always going to be a discussion.
  6. how hard is it for the zips to schedule big time opponents? i don't think many big time programs would be willing to schedule the zips. it is a lose/lose proposition.
