Hello all, I am a football fan from Australia and I have come to notice the logo/emblem of the Akron Zips is a kangaroo. Does anyone know the origin of this? I am curious to see how our native animal because the emblem/logo for Akron. Thanks

Hi all, I was doing research for a college football team to follow and came across the Akron Zips and their logo which looks to me like a Kangaroo. I am Australian (thus why I have no allegiances to any college team) and am a huge NFL and general football fan but found it quite strange as to why the Akron Zips have the logo of what seems to be an Australia native mammal? Can anyone shed some light on the origin of the logo? Thanks
