BRIDGESTONE-FIRESTONE TO STAY IN AKRON

Recommended Posts

This isn't quite to the level of the Goodyear deal, but this is still HUGE. For as much as "The Don" butts heads with LP, He, the City, County, and the State have really done a great job keeping what remains of the rubber industry in Akron!! Of course, on the ABJ front page, this is BELOW the rebuilding of "Spanky's Carpet. :rolleyes:http://www.ohio.com/news/top_stories/26065074.htmlHORRAY!!!!

Hooray Indeed. I still have a job. :) There had been talk here and there at first that they were gone (I work for Bridgestone/Firestone), but once the state gave the company a 75%(!!!) tax cut for employee retention, it seems they changed their mind quickly.

I used to work there not long after I graduated and left last time they talked about moving to TN. Still know a few people there and it's good that they are staying.
