It must be nice to have so much unfounded optimism based solely on one's conference affiliation.Maybe... some day...
A lot of that optimism also comes from our success on the field the last couple of years. The team is very experienced. We start 11 seniors on defense.

This comment on their board pissed me off...."We will most likely outdraw the home team with our fan support."That better not happen
That may depend on whether 75% of their fan base stops off at The Shoe or a bar between Cincy and Akron to watch 'THE GAME' before scurrying the rest of the way up I-71 to catch what's left of the Cincy/Akron game. I sure hope tOSU wins or a hefty number of our "fans" may be too pissed off to make the trek out to the Bowl after 'THE GAME.' I'd say their "... will most likely outdraw ..." comment probably holds water. :wall: Guess we'll see!

It won't happen. Cinci will likely bring 2,000 fans according to UAM. If we can't outdraw that, we're in trouble.

Just saw that an "un-named storm" is hitting the East Coast and will likely cause showers here tomorrow. This might keep the turnout lower. The one day in the last 7 or 8 that is has to rain :wall: I SURE hope this doesn't mean a repeat of the "dropsies" from the Ball St. game

I always hear this kind of talk on here. Why doesnt every person reading this just bring one friend to the game that normally wouldn't have gone and you could win a fan for life. I started getting a bunch of my non akron and even akron friends coming and now i have a group of 20 people that go to every game and have become diehards (at least for the tailgating). Just bring them to the party before the game and unless they regularly go to Suckeyes games, they will be impressed with the atmosphere and have a great time that they will want to experience again. Don't just talk about it, go pick them up saturday and bring them with you, buy the beer for once. TAKE ONE FOR THE TEAM.

Bingo. I've been trying to convince some friends to show up for a while now. They say they aren't football fans, but that's not what it's all about. It's about the tailgating and hanging out with friends and the atmosphere of the whole thing.

I sure hope we get a better turnout of fans this weekend. Ball State brought a lot of fans when they played us. Almost more than our fan base. I do expect Cinci to bring a lot of fans, but we've got to have more of our own. I'll be there. I was there in the rain when we played Ball State. Of all the days...likely rain on Saturday. Why?The Cinci fans say they're trying to figure out our team, I'm still trying to figure out our team.

RE Scout report:Stating the obvious, that guy is an idiot if he thinks MAC teams shouldn't beat BCS. Just because Cincity move to the BE doesn't mean they should win 100% of the time. If we kick UC's a** on sat we'd probably end up breaking his nose.... putz. Beyond that it was a pretty good report and continues to prove the Beacon is an overrated HS newspaper.....sorry rant overGO Zips!!!
