Guest KitKat Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 http://www.athensnews.com/issue/article.php3?story_id=19559 OU is currently lauded as being an asset to the Athens community. The opportunities, the entertainment, and all of the perks of having a rural university in near proximity greatly shapes the Athens community. "(OU's) expertise and influence coupled with the steadfast spirit of the area's entrepreneurs are producing impressive gains for a region that has for far too long served the financial interests of others," McDavis said. Among his initiatives for the coming years is expansion of the OU airport to include commuter service to airports in urban areas, making OU more accessible to perspective business partners as well as out-of-state students, McDavis said. P.S. More of you zip fans need to stop by Macbbs, as you are a minority when it comes to frequent visits there. Here, you can find out more on the growth of the MAC conference as well as OU's advancements in athletics and academics. Quote
Guest Remedial Time Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 It's not the MAC Conference dipshit, just the MAC. That Ohio education is really paying off. Go jump on the back of that garbage truck and pick up my cans and don't forget the cardboard boxes on the side this time. Quote
Guest PS Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 OU is the only thing in Athens, save the pig slaughtering shed on the coal processing plant. It's not really a Chamber of Commerce moment for the kittens to be lauded as a positive next to that competition. I hear they booked Roy Clark for the Homecoming Dance next year... is he bringing Junior Samples too? Quote
Z.I.P. Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 Hey -- you guys take it easy on the BobbieKittens and the Athens area. It is after all, the Hemp Products Capitol of the northern Appalachian region. Quote

" Kit..........we're all there, it's just that the bbs is turning into a private chit chat board between about 6 or 7 "regulars". It's "burned out" on interesting reading and seems confined to "cracking" between these guys............. You fix it up and we'll all jump (back) in...............at least the few of us who have been involved in the past......... BTW, ignore those flammers and thanks for the visit. Quote
Guest Webster (as in dictionary) Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 OU creates an ADVERSE effect on area? An adverse effect is a BAD thing, KitKat. We all know what an adverse effect OU has on people in general, but thanks for the affirmation (look that one up, too.) "Near proximity" is redundant and really, is a rural university such a great thing? I'm picturing a one room schoolhouse. Quote
Guest Quickzip Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 Was wondering if Kitten realized that an adverse effect on the area is not exactley flattering for his beloved flagship. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 Where did all the haters come from? Quote
