skip-zip
I still get a little bothered when people write these articles and refer to Akron as a SMALL school. We're one of the 50 or so largest universities in the country.
tbozeglav
by "small" they are really referring to the market size of the school, not its literal size...at least thats how i interpret it
zen
by "small" they are really referring to the market size of the school, not its literal size...at least thats how i interpret itTheoretically speaking, most people would think of akron as a part of the N.E.O. media ,market, which is not small either. However, in actually, UA doesn't even get strong coverage in akron let alone much in N.E.O.You watch.... if UA ever wins a championship, talking heads all over N.E.Ohio will be saying "I've been covering these guys for years...." A good championship would definitely get people to realize what we have down here (in reference to most people being located north of Akron)
Buckzip
I still get a little bothered when people write these articles and refer to Akron as a SMALL school. We're one of the 50 or so largest universities in the country. When they say small they are refering to the athletics. They aren't talking about the size of the school, or the area of the school. There are many schools that are small student wise, and are in the middle of nowhere that are considered big schools. In the world of athletics Akron is considered small. I guess they don't consider soccer to be a sport.
