Balki Bartokomous
Well, by my clock says it is 5:45 pm on Saturday. Today I received a call from a source saying "hey check out Lee Jackson Field." So I cruise on over and what do I see? Lee Jackson Field is 100% playable thanks to the grounds crew spending day and night on it. The field is perfect. The person who jumped the gun in the athletic department telling the NCAA the field is beyond repair should be fired. How in the hell do you give away home field advantage oh a whim? All those years of sitting behind a desk really qualifies you to make the call on whether or not a field can be repaired, 4 days before the game is being held. UA has a grounds crew that has been nationally recognized as one of the best in D1, and still you decide to just say "oh, well the field can't be fixed, I won't even let them try." well guess what numb nuts, the field is playable and its the day before the game. The U isn't 100% at fault, the Nazi Collegiate Athletic Association and their unbelievable bias towards BCS schools has to shoulder some blame. Taking away home field advantage from a team based on the recommendation of a glorified secretary just shows you to be assclowns we all already thought you were. So thank you NCAA/ UA athletic department. Thank you for screwing over the small guy and their fans yet again. While a top seed team from a smaller school plays at the field of a lame11 team who isn't even ranked, the higher ranked team's home field will be sitting empty waiting for the zips to come back on friday and destroy UNC. Unless, that is, between now and then someone farts on the field and the UA athletic department proclaims the field is unplayable and the NCAA happily moves the game to Chapel Hill. ZachTheZip
This isn't the first time we've been betrayed by somebody who works in facilities. When we took three busses of Rowdies down to Columbus someone called ahead to warn OSU, which allowed them to attempt to organize a fan section. Luckily that one backfired when less than ten of their students showed up. This time, it's a much more serious transgression.

So much for the Big10 having a dedicated fanbase. I cannot wait to see the look on people's eyes at Northwestern when we have 2 (maybe even 3) buses of fans/students show up and take over their stadium. This is going to be a ton of fun

ctmjbowes@sbcglobal.net
I've been attacking the email addresses of the NCAA officials who made the call to move the game. Now I'm tempted to do same with whomever at UA made the call, and/or allowed the NCAA to assume the field would not be ready tomorrow. Does anyone know who at UA would have been responsible for making that decision? Damn, here's hoping tomorrow kicks ass for the Zips and the attending fans. Unfortunately I cannot make the buses but wish all the the travelers happy napping on the bus, crafting of obscene and hilarious cheers for the Mildpussies, and a BIG FAT ZIPS WIN.GO ZIPS!BEAT THE MILDKITTIES!SeeTeeZip

I wonder how well it would hold up to the rain that expected beginning any time after 9AM tomorrow? My guess is it wouldn't take too much to make it pretty sloppy/soggy/torn up again. I'm not saying this to justify the decision to move the match. I'm saying it more to say our luck just sucks right now. Hopefully we take care of business and get a shot at one more home game before heading to Texas.See many of you tomorrow morning at the JAR EARLY !!! I would not put it past the glorifield athletic Gods to make the call by themselves. (With help from the Big Ten Commish)
