Zipsrifle Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Well, I admit, I am one of the persons least interested in Zips BB on this board. But the BB team's success has me craving to see one game this season. Are any of the MAC Tourney games televised nationally? If I can, I'll catch the Zips if they are televised. Let me know the scoop! Quote
Zip Watcher Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Hey Rifle! The MAC Tourney Final is always broadcast nationally by ESPN or one of it's networks. In the past few years since the move to the Gund, I believe that FSN has broadcast the semi-finals regionally also. I read somewhere on another MAC-related board that the quarters might be on ESPN U (the new college network), but I have no other verification of this. Not sure where you are (MI?) but if the Zips make the Finals, you'll see them live if the curiosity doesn't drive you to come in and see them live. Hop on Board!! ZW Quote
Zipsrifle Posted March 4, 2005 Author Report Posted March 4, 2005 Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to tune in! I can guarantee that I won't be there though, my drive to Akron would be considerably longer drive than normal next week, 12 hours. Quote
Z.I.P. Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 Can you say "ESPNU"? That new network is televising two first round MAC games on Monday. Unfortunately, unless you have DirecTV, you probably can't get them, as the new guys on the block only reach 3 million US households. I don't know which games are to be broadcast, but soneone on the MAC e-mail list -- an OU radio announcer, said they will both be IN the state of Ohio, due to logistical reasons. The trucks have to get back to Cleveland for the tourney at Gund. After that I don't know what games will be broadcast from the Gund -- other than the finals. I (and every other MAC fan outside the area) have our fingers crossed. GO ZIPS! (Wow! What a first half in Buffalo) Quote
Zipsrifle Posted March 6, 2005 Author Report Posted March 6, 2005 OK, I'm embarrased to admit this, but I have no idea how the MAC tournament works. My guess is if the Zips play a Michigan team I should be able to find the game since I will still be in the state. What are the chances of that happening? Quote
Egad Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 Zipsrifle, The Akron-Eastern Michigan game may be broadcast in Michigan on Comcast, but I really don't know. The two MAC Tournament ESPNU games are supposedly Marshall at OU and NIU at Buffalo. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted March 6, 2005 Author Report Posted March 6, 2005 Thanks for the upate. I took a look at the pairings and I might have multiple chances to tune in. If the Zips beat Eastern, do the get Western at home or in Kalamazoo? If I were at home and not traveling I would have made the trip to Kalamazoo! Of course, I will be nowhere near a MAC School during the tournament so I'll have to tune in. Quote

Zipsrifle Posted March 8, 2005 Author Report Posted March 8, 2005 Thanks Bandman.......I'm an idiot! Quote
