scottditzen
Why is it that following akron sports is as much fun as swallowing broken glass? Excruciating pain. Name the sport- we lose when it counts in the worst way. At least in soccer we advance a little bit, then lose. I'm frankly tired of rooting for individual players and their stats or future/present pro careers. We deserve to ignore it all until after the school wins something, then jump on the bandwagon after the fact. At least maybe we'll have a nice campus in 10-20 years. Mr. Negative right now. But here's one positive, Can't didn't knock us out. Cuz you damn well know they would have if they played us.
JP Morgan
Just one time.........one time.........could we please just win a big game when it counts! Just one time can we exceed expectations and pull a "oakland" and win the conf. tourney! Just one time can we be the team that "makes plays" at the end of a game. Just one time, can a zip player hit the 20 footer with 15 seconds on the clock to win it! Just one time can a defense make a play in the fourth quarter to seal the deal! I love the Zips, but just one time, can I get my hopes up for something special and actually have it happen! Here I go again.... GO ZIPS! 2005 MAC FOOTBALL CHAMPS! zipsbandman
What a heartbreaker! We had it....we really had it. I'm sick of getting my hopes up only to see us falter when it counts. Making it to tomorrow would have probably got us the NIT bid. Just think of the fun we would have had with a 9:00 game in the semifinals. Buffalo's student section was flat out nuts, and I think we really would have had a great atmosphere. Oh well, I guess we will be doing what we do best...sit at home. It was a good game anyway, a classic battle in a MAC tournament. It was a good season anyway. We just lacked the talent and experience. I'm not going to talk about next year because I'm sick of next year. That seems to be the mentality with the Cleveland teams too. Can't still sucks. superzip
I was there at Gund. Tough loss. When you cannot rebound or consistently make foul shots, you usually don't win!!! Only our defense carried us this year, along with some great outside shooting. Now , no NCAA, probably no NIT!!!

Zippy989
Come on folks read the stats WMU 24 FTs Zips 8, GET THE MESSAGE??? Several messages received. One: No Respect from MAC Officials Two: You don't get fouled when your settle for 3 pointers all afternoon. Three: You don't fouled when you don't grab rebounds. Guys, come on. I know this one hurt but look how far we came in year one AH. (After Hipsher) KD and the team has worked a miracle this season. I am really looking forward to the next season... when is the last time any of us could say that? Now we have to wait for football... but I'm actually looking forward to that too... Just remember. When it all happens and we are celebrating a MAC Championship, we can all say we were there when it all began.... Thank you KD and team for a great season. Both you and JD will get us there... GO ZIPS!!!
Buckzip
The future looks bright. Joyce, Travis, Walther, Peterson all a year older. Wood, hopefully back at 100% Dials will give us a real outside threat, and more toughness.
ziplock
Disappointed. Yes. Bummed and depressed. Absolutely not. Absolutely no one (except perhaps for the team and the coaching staff, and maybe not even them) felt this team would finish with 19 wins. What a bright future we have--looking forward to see what these guys bring to the court next season. I couldn't be prouder of their effort. Go Zips!!
