ZachTheZip Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Very few people know what this game means for the program. If you would have told me at the beginning of the season that the final game of the regular season would mean something for the women's basketball team, I would have laughed at you. But here we are, getting ready to face Can't on the road, in almost the exact same position as the men's team. That's right: if the lady Zips can pull off a win at Can't (and if BG beats OU, which is almost guaranteed), they will earn the #4 seed and a bye in the MAC tournament. For women's bball, the top two teams in each division get byes, and Akron would finish 2nd in the East behind BG.Anybody that can get to this game should. Tipoff is at 4:00PM on Saturday, and the game's on FSN Ohio (but you should be there). This is the most important game this team has had in a very long time. Come out and show your support. Quote

C'mon, I had to gather change for the last buck or so. Go down to plasma center and earn it like a real man Quote
ZachTheZip Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 If anybody is worried about the game tomorrow selling out before you can get tickets, this would be the perfect opportunity to pick them up.Also, since Miami beat BG, they went and screwed up all the tie-breaker scenarios. I'm not sure how it works out, but there's a possibility of a 4-way tie for 2nd place in the East now. Quote
zippyrifle32 Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 women throw the game and lead away in the final minutes. the refs helped by allowing some real physical play (fouls). Also, a group of rowdies showed up, bought reserved chair back seats and before the game even started they were being told they had to move. The guys paid $10 a seat to get reserved seating just before the game started. Someone at Can't got pissed (and this was before the game was underway and they could even open their mouths to cheer) and sent an usher up to them with a $5 refund and general admission tickets. They were told they could take the refund and move or be kicked out and get nothing back. Complete bullshit! Quote

Complete bullshit!no surprise...i would have made them throw me out then because there is no way they are allowed to discriminate like that. All those liberal views over there but they dont even practice what they protest for. Quote
