w00t
AKRON – The University of Akron Department of Athletics and the men’s basketball program will host an NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Selection Show Party on Sunday (March 15) at Ohio Brewing Company (in downtown Akron on Main Street) from 4-8 p.m.Fans can purchase food and drink at the Ohio Brewing Company, with the CBS telecast of the unveiling of the NCAA field of 65 being announced at 6 p.m. After the selection show, UA head men’s basketball coach Keith Dambrot will address the crowd. From 8-10 p.m. on Sunday, the UA Athletics Ticket office will take orders ONLY (placing a ticket order does not guarantee a physical ticket), both in person (in Rhodes Arena) and via phone (1-888-99-AKRON or 330-972-6920), for the Zips’ first round NCAA Tournament game. At that time, ticket orders will only be made available to current Z-Fund members. The ticket office will re-open Monday morning (March 16) at 8 a.m., with the general public having the opportunity to place an order based on availability starting at 2 p.m.Please continue to visit GoZips.com for further details on Akron’s NCAA postseason journey and how ticket orders will be processed and distributed on a priority basis for Z-Fund members first, followed by current UA men’s basketball season ticket holders and the general public. So if I'm not a Z-Fund member or season ticket holder my first opportunity to purchase tickets is 2 p.m. tomorrow afternoon and I don't need to do anything in the meantime, correct? ZachTheZip
That's correct. Just sit back and enjoy the ride until then. :champs:
meatwad
Not that it really matters though, because as I understand there is usually a surplus of tickets at the event itself for purchase. Maybe not in the "zips" section, but I'm sure getting in will not be a problem.

Do I have a good chance of getting tickets tomorrow through UA?
Dave in Green
Not verified, but I heard from one person that so far Zips ticket traffic is moderate, and Zags ticket traffic is extremely heavy.

The scalpers are already on the loose. Gonzaga sold out their tourney in Las Vegas, their fans travel far and wide to see them, and will be in force. Dave in Green
I read on the Zags forum that their tickets sold out in about 3 seconds, but that many Zags fans are going anyway and planning on trying to find tickets available on site. That will make it a little tougher for any Zips fan who shows up without a ticket. I don't know what the "scalper" laws are in Portland.
