Big Zip
I noticed BG got an 8 seed which is actually like a 24 seed in the NIT. They play at Creighton. Funny how St. Mary's was the darling of the tournament shows yet didn't even garner a 1 seed in the NIT they are a 2.Buffalo will travel to Wichita State to play in the CBI -- I assume it is cheaper to travel to Wichita State than to pay the $60,000 OU paid last year to host a CBI game. skip-zip
BigZip...it's actually worse than that for BG, as I pointed out in another thread. There are 32 teams in the NIT, with 4 brackets with 8 teams each. BGs #8 seed means they were one of the last rated teams of the 32 team field. And they were the MAC regular season champ. Says a lot about how people feel about the MAC right now. meatwad
More than anything I think it speaks to how bad Bowling Green's non conference schedule was. Their RPI was only 180 (no wonder Lunardi had them as a 16 seed in the NCAA). Akron and Buffalo both ended up in the 90's and I believe Miami was low 80s. BG just didn't play anyone to give them a chance. I wouldn't read too much into BG getting the 8 in the NIT.
