I just read Zach Slates, a 6-2 305 OL FR-RS, has left the Pitt football program. Does anybody know if he will coming to Akron. If he did he would have 3 years with the Zips. He is also a local kid from Perry in Massillon.

ZFF.if he comes here he definitely sits out 2004 and then has 2 years left. He had his RS F at Pitt, one sitting out and two left .

6-2 305 is like Picc a short but big sized boy. Was he any good at Perry? Wonder why he left Pitt. Did he have any actual play8ing time at Pitt. ???? :iws:

I believe he was first team all state. I did some looking around and I saw where somebody thinks he is headed to YSU but that is not offical.

ZipDude,

He was a true frosh last year so if he transfers to I-A he sits one year and has three left. Sorry I made it soud like he was a rs-fresh last year. From what I hear he was going to be fighting for a spot this year.

he was one of JD's boys. my father works with his father. i knew him a little bit, although he was a feshman when i was a senior at perry. big, quick kid with a terrific work ethic. wherever he goes will get a good bonus. however i do the year of eligibility he loses if he comes here is certainly a negative in us getting him here. oh yeah, and my sneior year when we beat massillon and mckinley back-to-back (which is the only time it has ever been done, not to mention it was in the playoffs :D ) even the seniors were intimidated by this guys bulk and size.
