It's been a while since I've had any updates on the team. We have had plenty of rain outs and last night was only our 8th and 9th games. We play 2 today and 1 tomorrow and that wraps up the season. We are 6-3 so far, so not too bad of a start for the new program. If anyone is interested in trying out next fall, there is a team page on facebook you can become a fan of and that is where new info will come out of. Club Baseball page-------------------The Club team beat Notre Dame College in a doubleheader last night setting multiple team and individual records.-Game 1-The Zips scored 5 times in the first for the early lead capped by back to back to back doubles by Brandon Morton, Greg Bennett, and Andrew Payne. After NDC got on the board with 1 in the bottom half of the inning, Akron answered back when Mike Reynolds hit a 3 run homer to push the lead to 7. Akron would not score in the 3rd and that would be the last time all game they did not score in an inning. They would score in the 4th, 5th, 6th, and in the 7th would set a team record with an 11 run inning. The 23 hits and 23 runs in the game would both be team records. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 R H E--------------------------- 5-3-0-1-2-1-11 : 23/23/11-0-2-2-1-0-6 : 12/10/2LaBar (W, 1-0)HR: Reynolds-1 (1)2B: Bennett-1 (2), Morton-1 (3), Sprague-1 (1)R: Reynolds-4 (10), Thomas-1 (1), Sprague-5 (8), Sheeks-4 (5), Payne-1(2), Morton-1 (6), Monnin-1 (1), Cistone-2 (3), Bennett-3 (8), Coursen-1 (2)RBI: Reynolds-6 (8), Thomas-3 (3), Payne-2 (3), Morton-2 (7), Cistone-1 (1), Bennett-4 (6), Coursen-1 (2), Monnin-2 (2)3271_73687714159_67511634159_1714809_6126562_n.jpg Mike Reynolds, DH/OF3271_73687504159_67511634159_1714777_2528253_n.jpg Greg Bennett, 1B==================-Game 2-Akron continued it's hot hitting scoring 5 in the first two innings to jump out to an early lead that they would hold onto. Rain would cut the game short in the 5th inning, the game was official after 4 giving Akron the win. 1 2 3 4 R H E --------------------------- 3-2-0-0-: 5/9/1 2-0-0-0-: 2/3 /0Coil (W, 1-1) HR: 2B: Bennett-1 (3) R: Reynolds-2 (12), Morton-1 (7), Sheeks-1 (6), Sprague-1 (9)RBI: Reynolds-2 (10), Bennett-2 (8), Sprague-1 (1)2907_75810299159_67511634159_1744232_8310249_n.jpgDustin Coil, P

Keep it up. 6-3 is very good for a first-year team built almost entirely by word of mouth. Winning breeds more winning, just as losing breeds more losing, and you're on the right side of the cycle.
