Getting to know the '09 Akron Football team (Houston blog)

Hey guys, my name is Sam and I'm a University of Houston fan. I write a blog with two of my best friends called Scott & Holman. We write about UH sports, college football in general and really any sports/entertainment topic that catches out fancy.One of our projects during this long and hot summer is previewing and ranking all 120 Division 1-FBS football teams.Akron was one of the 3 teams in our most recent preview and I thought I'd share it with y'all here at Zips Nation:Getting to know: AkronLet us know what was good and what was bad or anything we screwed up.p.s. We were educated on the Mack Rhoades hire... and while I personally like him, I don't give him credit for resurrecting Akron athletics or building the new on-campus stadium. He is a nice contrast to our previous AD, who was good, but had a rep as kind of a gruff bully who couldn't raise any funds.

I have to give you some props on the Bel Biv DeVoe Torrence thing. However, he isn't technically a transfer from Ohio State, they pulled his offer and he came to us because JD stuck by him. He red-shirted because of huge depth, Allen, Johnson (Miami-FL transfer), and Kennedy. Kennedy became the top running back mostly because of injuries to Allen and Johnson. Other than that thanks.

Did you guys rewrite or paraphrase all of the major media outlet's reviews? They are pretty much a match right down to some of the phrasing.

Something is incorrect in the first part of the article.We did indeed make the move to 1-A in 1987, but did not start playing in the MAC until 1992. Up until that point, we were an independent. Thanks for letting us know about your previous.

No.And I take offense somewhat to even the implication that we simply copy other previews.We took on this project for THAT VERY REASON. We felt that practically noone was making a concerted effort to do thorough and accurate previews of all 120 Division 1-FBS teams.
