Check it out here!Jul 7, 2009 Jacquemain threw for 2,748 yards (fourth on the UA season list), 20 touchdowns (third on the UA season list) and had 2,794 yards of total offense (fourth on the UA season list) last season. Chris Jacquemain is a senior quarterback for the Akron Zips. Jacquemain had one of the best seasons at the position in UA history. He threw for 2,748 yards (fourth on the UA season list), 20 touchdowns (third on the UA season list) and had 2,794 yards of total offense (fourth on the UA season list). He also completed 57.9 percent of his passes, fifth behind Charlie Frye who completed at least 58 .8 percent of his passes in each of his four years with the Zips. (58.8, 65.8, 64.8 and 63.6). Get to know more about the Akron QB below...Getting To Know: Akron's Chris Jacquemain1. What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far as an athlete? Receiving a Division I scholarship. 2. What are your goals for this season? I want to win a MAC Championship and increase my chances of being drafted by the NFL. 3. Do you have higher expectations going into this season than last? Yes. This is my senior year and maybe the last season of I will play football. 4. How did you get started playing football? I started playing with the neighborhood kids in our backyards. 5. What is your favorite beverage/food/desert? I like fruit juice, Italian food and ice cream. 6. If you can have one animal be extinct, which would it be? Mosquitoes, gnats and flies. 7. What would you like to be doing in ten years? I hope to making a good living and being worry free.8. What were you up to this summer?I have worked out, getting ready for the upcoming season, as well as golfed, fished, spent quality time with my family and friends and went to concerts. 9. What is an annoying habit you possess? I bite my fingernails and my mother always yells at me for it. 10. What is your greatest fear? My greatest fear is failure. 11. When you were a little kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?I have always wanted to be a professional athlete be it football, baseball or basketball. 12. What is the best class you've taken at Akron? I have really enjoyed all of my Sport Studies classes. 13. What would your ideal job be? (outside of playing sports professionally) I think it would be great to work as a sports agent or work in the front office for a professional sports team. 14. What is the most notable thing about your hometown? Mentor is known for being on Lake Erie and we have great sports teams. 15. What was your youth sports highlight? My youth sports highlight was playing little league baseball because our teams were always the best. 16. What’s the best part of being a Division I athlete? I enjoy the exposure and the potential opportunity to play at the next level. 17. What are your hobbies and off-the-field interests? I enjoy all sports, golfing, fishing, swimming, boating and watching movies and relaxing. 18. What is your favorite campus hangout? My favorite campus hangout is the Rec Center because I play basketball. I also like using the pool and hot tub in there. 19. What is your favorite TV show? My favorite TV show is HBO’s Entourage because I would love to live that lifestyle.20. What is your most memorable moment in sports, either as an athlete or as a sports fan? The most memorable moment in my sports career is my high school years of football. We were ranked #1 in the state the entire year my junior year and we got a lot of exposure. We finished 12-1 losing in the third round of the playoffs but it was a magical year.Getting To Know: Akron's Almondo SewellAlmondo Sewell is a junior defensive lineman for the Akron Zips. Sewell was named All-MAC as both as a freshman (2nd team) and sophomore (third team). He’s looking to become just the second Zip to earn All-MAC honors three times in a career, joining Chris Kemme. Sewell led the Akron defensive linemen with 62 tackles, adding six tackles for losses and a blocked field goal. Get to know more about the Akron defensive lineman below...1. What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far as an athlete?I would say my greatest accomplishment was when I made freshman All-American and I am planning on taking that one step further this up coming year. 2. What are your goals for this season? To win the MAC with my teammates and also make All-American this year as well. I think we do the first, hopefully I’ve played well to help win and hopefully played well enough to be honored.3. How did you get started playing football? I started playing flag football at first with the other kids from my neighborhood. One day when my dad and I were driving by Trenton Central High School we saw that they had a Pop Warner team out their practicing. The rest is history. 4. What is your favorite beverage/food/dessert? My favorite beverage is Tampico mongo punch, favorite food would be steak and shrimp and my favorite dessert is rum raisin ice cream. 5. What were you up to this summer? Working out, preparing to win the MAC this year and go to a bowl game. 6. What is your greatest fear? LOSING… I hate losing. 7. When you were a little kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I always wanted to become a police officer. I think I just watched too many detective movies. 8. What is the best class you've taken at Akron? Interpersonal Communications. I really enjoyed taking it this summer. It was fun and I picked a lot of good points that I can use even in my everyday life. 9. What are your pregame rituals? Every game I always come out on the field and take a lap around and then I go through my warm up stretches. Then I get stretched further by Coach (Tim) Campbell or Coach (Dan) Bailey. After that, I go back in and get mentally ready for the game. 10. What are your hobbies and off-the-field interests? I like watching movies, going to the batting cages or the driving range, swimming and hanging out with my teammates. 11. What is something people don’t know about you? I enjoy cooking. I can cook anything. Just ask my teammates that have come over for dinner. 12. What is your favorite campus hangout? The recreational center. You can swim, play basketball, ping pong, rock climb, everything! 13. What is your favorite TV show? Why? Anything that is on ESPN. 14. What’s your dream as a college athlete? To win a championship game and get my college degree. 15. Who was your greatest athletic influence? Troy Vincent. He used to come down to my high school and talk to us. I took everything he said and applied it. It has definitely become a big part of who I am now.16. Besides football, what sport would you have pursued for a college scholarship? I was pretty good at baseball, so I would say that. 17. You are on a road trip and stop at a gas station, what snacks do you buy? Peach rings, gummy bears and red Gatorade. 18. What is your favorite vacation spot and why? Jamaica. My family lives there and the island life is always relaxing. 20. What is one movie you could watch over and over again and not get sick of?
