Blitz ... ???

Ah ... what a refreshing word ... BLITZ...!!!

First heard it at the recruit announcement press conference. While viewing short

video clips of the incoming players, one of the D coaches remarked, "this kid

will fit nicely in our BLITZ package".

Half the room fainted. Most of them had only ever seen a blitz on TV.

Attack the football. What a novel concept.

This Zip fan still burns remembering the infamous "drive". The Zips LEADING

Marshall late in the fourth. Eighty yards to get the needed touchdown. Nope,

not a blitz, not a single aggressive play by the defense. The entire (except for

smiling, knowing Herd fans) shuddered in horror as play by play the Herd drove

for the game winning TD. And, they got it.

Never again.
