WinZip Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Allow me to set the scene...Trumpets sound, and the band begins to play as the Akron Zips Marching Band begins their journey toward InfoCision Stadium. The sun is shining through scattered clouds, and the temperate 76 degree weather warms the spirit of thousands of fans scattered throughout Colemon Commons. The aroma of grilled burgers catches in the light breeze generating a yearning, a desire, a hunger for victory. What was once green space is now solid blue and gold as the Akron faithful hang banners, throw frisbees, and drink beer with friends. Anticipation has been building throughout both campus and the city, and at last it has boiled over in colossal fashion. The Zips take the field to thunderous applause. A sold out InfoCision stadium of 30,000 fans is on their feet to push a steadfast Zips team across the goal line and into the next era of Zip’s history. or how about this...The rain continues to fall as true Zip’s fans weather the storm overhead. There is some good news, however, the grill finally lit! Off in the distance the band is heard, quickly tooting their horns as they head toward the sea of umbrellas known as InfoCision Stadium. Season ticket holders and students aren’t afraid of a little rain, and parking was much less of a problem with the lack of game day tickets sold. Who knows maybe Zippy will show up in a wet suit?Well I'm sure at some point we have all wondered how the weather will shape up on game day. Seriously speaking, the excitement will be there either way, but weather will be a major factor. Fair-weather fans....let's have a look:Saturday, September 12Isolated T-Storms High 75°FLow 60°FPrecipitation 40% Wind: From ESE at 6 mph Max. Humidity: 85% UV Index: 5 Moderate (hey some of you might wanna work on your tan)Sunrise: 6:58 AM ET Source: http://www.weather.comKeep the fingers crossed Zip's Fans. Quote

skip-zip Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Please God...just don't give us the weather we had prior to the Ball State game last year. That will surely prevent a sellout crowd. Quote

Zipsrifle Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 It's a week before the game, and you are worried about the weather. FWIW, in Ohio, I don't really worry about the weather until 2 days prior to any event, and then it is a 50-50 shot. In Michigan, you don't worry about a weather forecst EVER! Here's my prediction, it will be some conbination of the following:1) Cloudy2) Sunny3) Raining4) Snowing5) Warm6) Cold7) Windy Quote

Will the weather change YES...why do you think I'm checking it...I agree. It's not as if we're sweating bullets over the chance of precipitation It's just something that would drastically change the gameday experience. Quote

It's not as if we're sweating bullets over the chance of precipitation It's just something that would drastically change the gameday experience.Yes, yes it is important but 1) You can't control it2) Predicting it a week out is pointless.I'll be there, rain or shine. I think we should argue about it for a few more days and then I'll star worrying with you. Quote
WinZip Posted September 8, 2009 Author Report Posted September 8, 2009 1) I can't control anything that I type about on this board but that isn't stopping me...2) Who's worrying?3) Why are we seriously arguing this...don't you wanna know what the weather will be like?!?!? Don't you think that will be a major impact on our experience?I'm excited to see how many people show up hours before the game to enjoy the festivities Quote

ctmjbowes@sbcglobal.net Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 What else are forums for, other than to provide places for senseless arguments? Why don't we all agree to agree on everything, and every thread will be exactly one post long. Sounds like a winner to me. Oh, and we'll also agree THAT JUPITERTOO IS A TROLL. :D GO ZIPS!STZ Quote

tbozeglav Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 % chance of rain is relatively low... 30% is a 1-in-3 chance, but in the realm of meteorology its pretty low. If I were to guess, the weather should be fine for gameday. Maybe a little rain here or there, but nothing bad and certainly nothing the average fan wouldnt be able to tolerate. Quote
Aaron Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 It's been changed yet again today - now we have a high of 69, partly cloudy. FANTASTIC football weather. See you from sec. 204 tomorrow. Quote
