g-mann17 Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 "Should JD be fired (any time soon)?!?"For what? For finding out a player broke a team rule and suspending him? For putting in a player that 74% of this board begged for last year and still over 50% begged for this year? Because Rodgers came out in the second half doing his best Vinnie Testeverde impersonation? I'm sorry, if we wind up at the end of the year 5-7 yes Wistrcill is required to "re-evaluate" and we probably will end up with a different coach. However going 6-6 or better JD handled the situations he was delt in a fine manner and he won't be going anywhere."If we lose to CMU it's panic time"Only if we lose players too. We would be 1-3 at that point. So what. The MAC is what it is. No team is dominant and the east teams we play are damn lousy (Ohio, Temple, Can't, Buffalo, are as bad as they look) and we have 4 other games that are winnable."The defense stunk it up (maybe no one on the board said this, but if the fat lady and her husband behind me stayed for two more minutes they were getting clackers upside the head"The defense did a lot of good things. Two turnovers, forced situations that resulted in two great special teams plays. What lost us the game, was stupid penalties, a lost QB, and 4 interceptions."The tailgating experience is driving people away"Funny that people who showed up for one game, and barely post on here (fans?) can come up and be the first negative comments about the experience and stadium. Funny that everyone from every media circuit has talked about how great everything has been. Funny how nobody talked about getting ticketed last week. People who act like asses and draw attention to themselves are going to get ticketed. It happens at OSU, Browns, and any other game you go to. "The Info isn't as good as you think"It is vastly superior to the MAC stadium I've been to. Peden, Glass Bowl, and WMU are probably the next three. Buffalo is passable, the rest are pure crap, sorry. But none of them come close to the Info. IU officials were impressed, as were there fans, and everyone who has been in it has had nothing but good things to say about it. The few people that had any issue are the same people that only come on and post after a loss or when something negative happens. Quote
zestycoyote Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 I agree with everything you said except for the CMU comment. If we lose to CMU (which is very likely), we should go into panic mode. That's what we get for not beating IU like we were supposed to. We needed to win against one of IU or CMU. If we lose both, that puts a lot of pressure on the team for the heavy road schedule ahead. Quote
tim123 Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 OK listen up... I will say at nauseaum that the coach does not play..we all sit back and criticize about the play on the field which is our right, but we need to keep in mind that we don't have a QB and let's face it, that is what will get you to the next level. We lost our's to selfish and stupid judgement. JD has nothing but the best intentions for us and we need to support him and the team. Go Zips! Quote
ctmjbowes@sbcglobal.net Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 G-mann I liked your post overall, but in this new era of UA football, the MAC being the MAC will not work anymore. You want to draw NE Ohio fans? Typical MAC middling football will not work. JD is about to have his neck broken as his head snaps after he's fired mid-season. Proenza will not allow Wistrcill to allow this team to stumble along. That stadium you (and I) love so much also brings with it obligations, AND aspirations. JD's slack-ass team won't cut it anymore. They quit in the 4th quarter yesterday. Unacceptable. Regarding the facilities, G-Mann I'm with you 100%. The Info is beautiful. It really is. If the Info isn't goof enough for certain fans, it's those fans, not the Info. Lastly, I have seen NOTHING to make me think the university is trying to keep students down or to suppress fans in general. STZ Quote
Quickzips Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 JD has nothing but the best intentions for us and we need to support him and the team. Go Zips!I remember hearing something about a path being made to somewhere that was paved with good intentions.Good intentions only get you so far Mrs. Brookhart. At some point your husband has to put a team on the field that can win more ballgames than it loses. Quote
