ZachTheZip Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 The women's soccer team takes on Ohio today at 3:00 PM. This game is for the right to host an opening round MAC tournament game. It's senior night, as well. This game is the biggest in the program's history. The Zips are on a 6-game winning streak, and a win today means that they will get to play the first round of the MAC tournament at Lee Jackson Field. This is the first year that they have made the tournament, and to get home field advantage for even one game would be tremendous. If you are able, get to this game. Especially students. Quote
bigzipguy Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 1-0 Lady Zips at the half. Header goal off of corner kick at 40:43. Quote

ZachTheZip Posted October 29, 2009 Author Report Posted October 29, 2009 A lot depends on the outcome of the EMU-CMU game now.A great win by the Zips, and the dozen or so Rowdies that showed up made plenty of noise. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted October 29, 2009 Author Report Posted October 29, 2009 Alright. EMU and CMU tied 1-1.Here are the final MAC standings:Central Michigan 9-0-2 14-3-2 Eastern Michigan 6-1-4 10-3-6 Akron 7-3-1 9-6-2 Ohio 6-3-2 9-7-2 Toledo 6-3-2 10-6-3 Miami OH 6-4-1 10-7-1 Can't State 4-5-2 8-8-2 Western Michigan 3-4-4 6-7-5 Looks like we're hosting the Redhawks in the first round. The game will be on Sunday, November 1st. soccerbirdie16 Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 How great - tied for 2nd in the MAC in the final standings, and 3rd seed in the tourney. Now on to Sunday - we need to pack the stands for the Miami game!! Quote
ZachTheZip Posted October 29, 2009 Author Report Posted October 29, 2009 Akron takes a 6-game win streak with them to the MAC tournament.Today's attendance was terrible, though. Only 162 people showed up for Senior Night for a winning team with a tournament home game at stake. And half of those were belligerent Ohio fans (they really hated the Rowdies).Luckily, the Miami fans hate the Rowdies even more. Let's show them how to support a winning team. The game is at 2:00PM Quote

Senior day was October 18th against Ball State and Petrole put the ball in the net off the cornerkick. Wise never touched it. Give credit where credit is do. Just giving facts not looking to cause any problems. GoZIPS!!! Quote

Z.I.P. Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Alright. EMU and CMU tied 1-1.Here are the final MAC standings:Central Michigan 9-0-2 14-3-2 Eastern Michigan 6-1-4 10-3-6 Akron 7-3-1 9-6-2 Ohio 6-3-2 9-7-2 Toledo 6-3-2 10-6-3 Miami OH 6-4-1 10-7-1 Can't State 4-5-2 8-8-2 Western Michigan 3-4-4 6-7-5This is so typical of MAC sports: CMU has one of the best records in the entire nation, and they don't even get in "Others receiving votes" in the national poll. Their only OOC opponents of significance are three Big-11 teams, and they lost all three! So, maybe they don't deserve much -- but NOT a single VOTE??? Quote

ZachTheZip Posted October 31, 2009 Author Report Posted October 31, 2009 Who cares about CMU...Akron had them beat with the worst call in soccer history. Was that the game where they stopped play a minute after we scored and took away the Akron goal with no explanation? Or was that Ball State? Quote
