RootforRoo44 Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Guys, I'm naive to Soccer and to Porter, unfortunately, but I have a hard time believing that stadium upgrades are enough to keep him around when big money starts getting waved around. He could be the greatest guy ever, but everyone has a price. Everyone.PAY HIM then...i dont care if it's way more than the rest of college soccer, make it happen! The money would be nothing compared to what get's thrown around for other sports.Problem solved. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 I would have to imagine that there's a pretty sizable bonus written into his contract for making the College Cup, and another one for winning it. Quote
doliveti Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 I sure hope he is focused on this weekend. The rumor is DC United is now trying to finalize a dealhttp://voices.washingtonpost.com/soccerins...ews_fraser.htmlHopefully Steven Goff is jumping the gun a bit... Quote
tbozeglav Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 my guess is that he wont do anything until after this weekend. I also suspect the University is waiting till after this weekend to offer any kind of contract restructuring so that this weekend can happen without any distractions from contract renegotiations or the like. Even so, I sincerely hope the University is willing to sack up and offer him a deal that will keep him around. Quote

But I enjoyed how the reaction deteriorated into something akin to a ZNO thread:Will RFK be called the Porterhouse? I'll steak my reputation on it. Quote
UA Fan Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 If you are the worrying type, I'd worry more about this -Indiana University Not To Renew Contract of Men's Soccer Coach Mike FreitagA search for Coach Freitag's successor will begin immediately. Glass expressed a strong preference for one of the many distinguished alumni of Indiana University soccer as a successor to Freitag, and noted that IU would be reaching out to a number of them.I'll bet I know where the first call goes.Yeagley takes over at Indianahttp://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?...e=NCAAHeadlines Quote

According to some, Jerry Yeags orchestrated the whole thing -- including Mike F's failure, just so he could get his boy into the coaching seat. I swear I was NOT the one who wrote comparing IU to Notre Dame! The one thing that seems sure is, Yeags still rules in Bloomington.http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread....456&page=47 Quote
Zip Watcher Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Fascinating to me that the guy @ IU makes less than 2/3'rds the UA Futbol coach. Quote
