infofan
Back to Jon Marochino, who's a key player in Freedom Avenue's(thats the Akron/Canton clear channel cluster of 6or 7 stations) third major move. He'll host "The Jon Marochino Show", a weekday, 3-6 PM local sports talk show on sports WARF/1350 Akron "Fox Sports 1350". Quoting another station release:Listeners will be able to express their thoughts on teams such as the Zips, Kant St., Aeros, Cavs, Browns, Indians, and Buckeyes. The program will also devote time to coverage of High School Sports. “For the first time, listeners in Akron won’t have to tune to a station in Cleveland for their daily dose of Northeast Ohio sports” said Marochino. “We are two guys who scream and yell at the TV when our teams aren’t playing well, we’re not clubhouse or locker room reporters, we’re fans who happen to have a radio show” Marochino added. The "two guys" refers to Marochino and sports update anchor Todd Fisher. I realize not too many on here care for the signal/coverage of 1350. No argument here. But still 1350 makes no mistake- their flagship content is Zips sports and I salute them for carrying soccer when no one else ever would have, as well as all the zips mens, womens games, and football and baseball. Bottom line is in Akron we dont get mush "local" coverage so lets try to support it when we do.
