Dave in Green Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 Interesting story in the Beacon Journal referencing many of UA's sports staff salaries and overall sports philosophy, with special attention to KD:Beacon Journal Link Quote
ZachTheZip Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 The impact of Infocision Stadium on revenues.Today must be a feature day on UA's athletic budget.I like the innovation taking place within the ticket department. Having full-time ticket salespeople instead of having employees piggyback that with their actual jobs. Plus handing out commission for the number of tickets sold, to provide incentive. Let's see if this pays off. Very few universities do something like this. Quote
vmd9 Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 The thing that's still making me mad about the stadium is WHY are they not scheduling any concerts there? The stadium will sit empty until next august and it is a waste. It is not hard to get good artists to come, Jay-Z was at freaking Cleveland State! c'mon UA use your heads. Quote

How about the Columbus Crew vs Aston Villa FC at Infocision. Ohhhhh, I forgot. A. We're not allowed to play that type of football at the stadium, and B. That would just show the Crew that Akron is a real football town. :DUmmmm, by the way, did Jay-Z play outdoor at CSU in January? Quote

Dave in Green Posted January 17, 2010 Author Report Posted January 17, 2010 ''We had a few folks who talked about band shows'' in the coming year, said Hammond, who is in charge of university facilities. ''A few promoters have called about concerts. We're going to do our best and campaign for other events.'' Quote
