The Michigan Bucks College Cup, that is.

Pontiac, MI (February 23, 2010)- The Michigan Bucks will host the annual College Cup presented by adidas on Saturday, March 27, 2010 with four games for the price of one, featuring both local and national soccer powers. Returning for their annual appearances are Oakland University and the University of Michigan . Joining them this year are the University of Notre Dame and last year’s season long number one ranked University of Akron . Akron went undefeated last fall and were the top ranked team from wire to wire until they lost the NCAA championship title in a penalty kick shootout to Virginia . The format for the four team round robin tournament will have each of the teams playing two seventy minute games, beginning at 12:00 PM. with the host team Oakland taking on Notre Dame. That game will be followed by Michigan and the Fighting Irish at 1:30 PM. Akron gets into action against Oakland at 3:00 PM and the finale has the Wolverines trying to get revenge against the Akron Zips at 4:30 PM for a loss they suffered last fall to the top ranked Zips in Ann Arbor.

For the second year in a row, the Bucks are pleased to welcome adidas as the College Cup presenting sponsor. Adidas will proudly be providing the game balls, which will be the same ball used at the 2010 FIFA World Cup this summer. The game balls, as well as several other top adidas branded soccer jerseys, will be given away between matches to several lucky fans in attendance. In addition, the first 750 kids (15 and under) will receive a special Michigan Bucks shirt, compliments of adidas.

General admission tickets are one price for all four matches for only $12 and are expected to sell out. The Bucks are offering a special advance purchase price to all fans and customers of Ultimate Soccer Arenas. From today until March 17, all $12 tickets will be sold at a $5 discount, so you can see all four matches for only $7. Children age five and under are free.
