Zip Watcher Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 Just curious & went looking for our old friend. First, I found the following link to his bio at SMU: This doesn't mention his lockerroom brawl strategies! Then I noticed that the head coach had just been hired & I found the following discussion over at PonyFans.Com: Click Me! Quote
Guest Guest_Z.I.P. Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 It's too bad if Coleman and Elaine don't get to make their annual visit to the Stan Sheriff Center Arena in Honolulu next season, but I wouldn't worry about Cole's coaching prospects. He may wind up back in the ACC. Though I don't see anything opening up at UNC, his longtime ties with Steve Robinson and time spent in Tallahassee keep his name high on lists for high major assistant jobs. Huggins still is close, so UC may someday be another option if need be. Let's just put it this way -- you won't find many coaches more liked and appreciated among his peers as a teacher than Coleman. And I've personally never met anyone in the coaching profession more personable and likeable. An aside about SMU: They're the first school in the nation to make their athletic website totally off-limits to non-Explorer browsers. Even Slugnation made the effort to make this site open to all, but not those Dallas evangelicals. When I click on the link above, I get a "You are using a browser that is not web standards compliant. please upgrade to Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator to proceed." Now I can't keep up on SMU soccer, where several local HS players are -- and that Columbus GK who played for Lolla's national squad. Damn! :o Quote
