ZachTheZip Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 Media Day is this Friday, July 30th, from 8 to Noon. Ianello will be there, and he is bringing LB Mike Thomas and OL Mike Ward. You can watch his press conference for free on the All-MACcess thing on the MAC website. The MAC has a great sense of humor, or possibly irony. The two guest speakers are two people who couldn't possibly care less about the MAC: Bill Hancock the Executive Director of the BCS, and Desmond Howard of ESPN Game Day. I have to wonder if either of them even knew about the MAC until they got the invites to attend this thing. Quote
akron football Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 What face would you want to put on our team? Going to the MAC preseason meeting would be a good opportunity to put players that can make the program look bright.I'm sure that Coach I knows what he's doing,I mean he's from ND right. Quote
RACER Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 why would you invite the guy from the bcs.they don't want to give the non bcs teams any $ at all,but they had to.they would rather have all the non bcs teams in the sub bowl divison ;so they would not have to give them a dime.you know it p.o. the bcs when they had to let tcu,and boise play into a bcs game.they would not give them a shot at any other bcs teams though.they would be giving $ to non bcs teams because they were forced to.it took a threat from orin hatch of congress even to let these type of games happen at all.if not you would of never seen this game. You hit the nail right on the head. It's just a PR ploy. Same with Desmond Howard being there. Hey, at least his appearance means that someone from ESPN will attend this year. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted July 26, 2010 Author Report Posted July 26, 2010 here's the link to watch it live. Akron's bit lasts from 9:00 AM to 9:10 AM. The joys of alphabetic order. The whole thing only lasts three hours. I really wonder how conferences like the ACC can make their media preview last over multiple days without running out of things to talk about just a few hours into the first day. One good bit of news is that Michael Reghi will be the host. Another bad bit of news is that they still have no idea how to podcast, so if you miss it you'll have to rely on the media reports or someone who was awake enough to watch it live and actually remember what was said. ZachTheZip Posted July 30, 2010 Author Report Posted July 30, 2010 Coach's quotes. He seems to be all about fundamentals. Quote
