ROO-Wards

Recommended Posts

I had to sit in at a meeting today as a representative for my student group. Halfway through the day they brought in a guy from athletics who handed out a card and talked about a new rewards system for students attending games. Basically, you go to sporting events, you swipe your card, you get free stuff. Here's what it says on the card:

5 Points - Football, Men's Soccer, Men's Basketball

10 Points - Women's Soccer, Volleyball, Baseball, Women's Basketball, Softball

15 Points (1 designated ROO-Wards event per sport): Cross Country, Men's Golf, Women's Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Rifle, Tennis, Simming, Outdoor Track and Field

PRIZES

15 Points - Zips Walk-On

Roo-Wards Walk-on Dining Pack (Over $50 in free and discounted food at local restaurants)

40 Points - Zips Rookie

Zips Aluminum Water Bottle

70 Points - Blue Zip

Choose From:

1. Akron T-Shirt

2. Akron Hat

105 Points - Gold Zip

Choose From:

1. Akron Gym Bag

2. Akron Shorts

145 Points - Most Valuable Zip (MVZ)

Choose From:

1. Zips Hoodie

2. $25 ZipCard Gift Card

200+ Points -

Grand prize drawings for airline tickets, $500 and $250 gift cards to Best Buy and more.

What do you guys think?

It'll make the decision of whether to go or not a lot easier to make.

I'll be at more games!!!

This will work a lot better than Can't's billboard champaign.

Baseball games are worth 10? I would have had a nice bunch of points last year. They're just more convenient for the commuter student to catch a ballgame between or after classes.

This is a pretty cool idea. I like how they made the sporting events that I am probably not going to go to worth more points so that I will probably go to them. My questions is though, when you achieve a level of points does that mean you get the prize at that level AND the prizes of the lower levels? Or do you just get the prizes at the level you achieve? Another question for you bandzip, how many points do I get for going to bandorama? 100? And how many points for peeling chipped paint from some front porch at a party?
