The New Stadium

Took a side jaunt through the nearly completed soccer stadium renovation after the FB shindig.

Awesome ... AWESOME ... AWESOME !!!!!!!!!

The pitch is smooth as a billiard table. The new north side team shelters are first rate.

New seating in both end zones including most of the original grassy are the Rowdies prowled in

the past. Seating is behind the Rowdies Zone and elevated so the fans will be able to see over

the jumping Rowdies. Nice touch.

Flat west end, but with about four rows of seating. Even better, plenty of SRO area at that end

of the pitch.

Walked up on the new grandstand. Three rows of chair back seating that seemed a tad wider

than average. Perhaps to accommodate winter coats. The bench seating still being installed.

Some of the new seating is literally at nose bleed level where the press box is yet to be built.

I think you are going to love it.

Yea, I have to agree, that place is awesome. We swung by after the FB event as well and the soccer team must have completed practice a few minutes earlier. Coach Porter was admiring the new stadium, and that must have been a great feeling for him! I have only seen other College Soccer venues online, but I have to think this is one of the best college soccer stadiums in the country! Just like ICS, this place has exceeded my expectations.

Pechanga is the best place to be for Monday Night Football, unless you're at the game. They've got cheap ass beers and appetizers, and give you a raffle ticket for every beer you drink that can win you stuff based on the teams that are playing. The best part is the game is over by 9PM on the west coast and you have time to live it up in the casino. Awesome place! Love It!

Who the hell shoots these things? Akron has a great tv/video production program, why not get someone from there to put it together? This is awful.

We sat in the seats for the home opener last Friday. It was so nice to actually have a back on the seats but they are somewhat stiff. Maybe just because they are new. We sat in the front row and there are raised portions of the retaining bars - which tend to block your view somewhat. I am by no means complaining as it is so much better than the old bleachers and light posts that blocked the view!! When all is completed - it should be fantastic!! The atmosphere was amazing - can only imagine what it will be like during the tournament run!!
