BirdZip
If these were stocks, after this past game we would have 2 green up arrows, 1 red down arrow, and an entire division of our company is ready to be sold off for a minor boost in capital. The bigger picture is not so bad. If this were a football team, we'd be 0-2, embarrassed, and playing in front of smaller and smaller crowds as the season wears on. Right now, Infocision Stadium is the silver platter but the football team is still a turd...
Wally B
I see a lot of talk about talent and recruiting. YES, I agree that a BIG part of the equation is having the best talent. But that also presents the biggest question mark about iCoach: If he effectively recruited at ND, does it mean he can effectively recruit for a MAC school? For that matter, can anyone give me the status of iCoaches recruits? If we only have 4 at this point does that mean we'll struggle in 11' as he plays his incoming talent?? Wally B
Why do I want to give this guy 3 years of on the job training? IF things click in the 3rd year, this guy is gone at his first chance and we're starting over, again. IF things don't click, we're starting over again. BUt "if" he gets there by recruiting "well", then our cupboard won't be bare as it is/was now!

I don't want a "coach" who can bring in tons of talent but still find ways to lose games he shouldn't. I want a coach who can get his team to overachieve, to win even without top-notch talent, and if he can recruit well then that's a bonus. Being a winner is more important than being a recruiter. You don't have one without the other. There are no miracle coaches that can take a bunch of no talent hacks and make them win. No what happens is, there is talent there and after getting to know the talent the coach puts them in the right spots and then the winning starts. You guys fired Ianello after the spring game, he doesn't even know what he has available yet, and how it performs in game situations. The loss to Gardner Webb was because the defense got lazy, and the team lost momentum because of it. Had nothing to do with "coaching". RACER
the positive is the offense did improve.i know it was only gardner web they still looked improved, and we finally ran the ball.the defense was the biggest dissapointment.how can a fullback get so wide open. he was closer to the fans in the stands then any akron defender.the defense lost the game for us.the kicking only made things worse.thier is no way a 1-aa team should score 31 regualtion points.then the defense lets them score in OT.
