johnnyzip84 Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 So I'm watching Soccer Talk Live on Fox Soccer Channel tonight. The host is Kyle Martino, who many of us will remember as the UVa shill who provided some of the color for ESPN coverage of the tournament last year. He certainly didn't give the Zips much credit then. Well his guest tonight was Kenny Arena, son of famous US coach Bruce Arena. Kenny also played at UVa and he is now an assistant at UCLA. They get into a discussion on the Hermann Award and show pictures of a half dozen or so candidates, all from either the Big-10 or ACC. I figure at this point UA soccer is getting dissed again. But to his credit, Kenny Arena eventually mentions the #1 Zips as the team to beat and you can almost see Martino's jaw drop! Loved it Quote

I just turned on the replay in the islands. Who woulda thought Joe Scarborough would be a Liverpool fanatic?! "Caleb Porter's done an incredible job there. Sorry, Caleb, I second-guessed you." Kyle Martino's response to Kenny Arena's comment that Akron is the team to beat this year, and has a fellow named Darlington Nagbe who's a Hermann contender. But, did you notice how Arena holds his head? Just like his dad, he has some sort of hook up his nose, so he can look down it at everybody. No wonder this show is sponsored by Jackass! Quote

I somehow missed that Martino apology. My bad. But it's hilarious that you brought up Arena's appearance. I was watching with my youngest and I mentioned to him about how one side of Kenny's mouth seems to be permanently shifted upwards. It exudes a definite air of cockiness. I enjoyed the Scarborough piece too. Quote

I have a friend who has one side of her mouth permanently hooked upward. She had suffered a stroke. Indicating of course that she has brain damage. Perhaps his upward hook is showing his drain bamage. Quote

His father has the exact same "cocky" look when he talks on camera. Or "snooty" look. Of course it's gotten snootier since he joined the Galaxy. Quote
